BatchPhoto doesn't include any home run features, but its step-by-step walkthroughs make it great for beginners. It lets anyone crop, add borders, annotate, and apply filters and effects to multiple photos at once. If you're new to the photo-editing world, it might be the program you're looking for if you've got a little cash to spend.

You can use all of the features of this program without paying, but it will put a watermark on your photos. The program starts you off with a click-through tutorial, complete with videos, that can take some time to complete. Luckily, you can exit the tutorial at any time and get right to work. Editing photos with the program follows the same step-by-step process of the tutorial. BatchPhoto's wizard boils everything down to a few stages -- Add Photos, Edit Photos, Setup, and Process. In the main editing stage, you can apply filters, borders, and other decorations that will lighten up your pictures. You can also crop and resize photos, as well as add text with relative ease. Once you've clicked "Process," the program goes to work, but it doesn't overwrite your photos in case you mess up. It also doesn't take very long for the program to process and edit your photos, which is a plus.

With BatchPhoto, you're not paying for advanced features, but for ease of use. If you're new to editing photos, then this is a perfect choice. The $29.95 charge is worth paying just to learn the ropes before investing in more expensive options that are generally much harder to use.

Editors' note: This is a review of the full version of BatchPhoto 3.5.2. The trial version contains watermark on output.

Developer’s Description

Convert, resize, rename, and edit photos in batch mode; automate editing with profiles and scripts.

BatchPhoto is a photo manipulation program that makes it easy to convert, touch-up, annotate, transform, apply effects, and rename hundreds of photos in a single operation. Instead of enhancing and adjusting pictures individually, BatchPhoto lets you select a group of images, define a series of edits, and apply them in a single operation.

With BatchPhoto you can Convert images (to JPEG, PDF, TIFF, GIF, PNG, and more than 170). Resize pictures automatically and adjust the DPI. Stamp photos with the original Date/Time when they were taken, add Watermarks as Text or Logos, and simple Comments. Automatically Rotate photos based on EXIF metadata. Apply special effects like: Sepia, Black and White, Charcoal and more; Touch-up photos by adjusting the Brightness, Sharpness, and Contrast.
