Produce sound effects and tune musical instruments.

Using no additional hardware, you can produce sine, square, triangle, and sawtooth waveforms of any frequency up to 22 kHz, as well as generate noise. You can generate up to 13 different waveforms. Each waveform can be routed to either the left or right channel, or to both. The amplitude of each waveform may be adjusted, as well as the volume on each channel, which is a mix of any waveforms routed to that channel. In addition, there is a sweep generator. Audio Toolbox is useful both for testing audio/radio equipment, and for producing sound effects, as well as for tuning musical instruments.

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />This is what I was looking for -- a simple AF generator -- *but* has a very beta (or freeware) feel. Most of all, the lack of sliders for the frequency and oscilloscope controls is very frustrating, and unusual for a Mac. It is not an OS X-level application, and the $20 price tag is unreasonable. Documentation is poor.
