In a rich 3D environment, kindergarten children use Montessori blocks and wooden strips to practice addition and subtraction. Completing the hands-on mathematics activities in the 3D environment deepens children's conceptual understanding of addition and subtraction while at the same time improves their fluency and speed with the basic math facts. Archimedes features: Completing the activities in a 3D tree house with a rich back story engages children to learn mathematics in a fun and meaningful way. Visual representations of addition and subtraction with Montessori manipulatives help children better understand mathematics. Children are awarded stars, coins, and other fun activities after they complete each set of mathematics activities. This will motivate children to practice addition and subtraction. Activities are grouped into small sets. Each set takes a few minutes to practice. Frequent practice improves understanding and memorization. Audio instruction is provided to young learners who have not yet mastered reading. Guidance and help are provided on the screen, so children can complete the activities with minimal adult support. Children and parents can keep track of the number of times the activities have been completed.
