Although you can quickly hide open programs, applications, and Web sites with this small utility, the program has some limitations. AppAway, which writes itself to the system tray, opens with a much-needed help file. To completely conceal any running program, click the AppAway icon and drag it to the program's main window. In doing so, you won't find any traces in the toolbar or by pressing Alt Tab. Right-clicking the icon will reveal all hidden programs you can unhide individually or simultaneously. Though the application works well, we were disappointed that you can't hide a program if its window is minimized. Any user who wants a quick way to conceal programs will find something to like about AppAway.
I have tried about 20 of this type, and do stay with TrayIt, WonderfulIcon, and now Appaway. Trayit and Won.Icon don't get everything, and

when you depend on the app to do the job each and every time, you can rely on Appaway. I tried it intentionally with over 80 apps.
So many broken links on the web, I spent 30 hours (yes that's right) trying to find the author and did. He said he is supplying a full version for FREE to me in a couple weeks.
Does what it says
sshaq35
Pros
Works well.
Cons
If you go to the systems tray you can still see the program icons which are hidden. Worse if the pointer goes over the icon for this program then it tells you exactly what's hidden.

Pros
Small, does what it says it does, easy to use.
Cons
No option to remove the program button from the taskbar when hidden. This is the main reason I was wanting this program.

Great freeware utility

My 'hidden' windows disappear
ireneQ
Pros
I liked it very much at first because I'm the type of person who will open 10 windows at once, and sometimes just keep them open to KIV. So I wanted an app that would hide those windows I don't need to see right now.
Cons
The app worked like a charm at first. However, I've had it installed for a week and this happened TWICE: I went to restore the hidden windows and they never appeared. They simply vanished into thin air. Now I dare not use it coz I don't want to "accidentally" lose something important this way!
Hide any program from the desktop or the toolbar without terminating it.AppAway is the easiest way to hide any program. The program will not appear on the screen, in the taskbar or when you alt+tab. AppAway is EASY. Just drag the AppAway icon from the system tray onto the software you want to hide. It doesn't get much easier than that! AppAway is SMALL, 72kb. It's written in C++ without any resource hungry components, which means that AppAway is using as little system resources as possible.
