• Good program for creating Windows Reminders

  Pros

  Creates executable from single or multiple images including animated GIF and displays them cleanly in Windows. No image viewer required because it is already included in the generated executable.

  Cons

  For the purpose of converting images to executables - I can find no cons.

  Summary

  Most Windows reminder programs (Task Scheduler, System Scheduler, etc) require a EXECUTABLE - they will not work from a BAT file. If you want to use an image or animated GIF for a Windows reminder - you have to create a BAT file with an image viewer that accepts command line options and then convert the BAT file to an EXECUTABLE. Most times, the BAT2EXE file displays the desired image, but it also displays the command prompt with the batch file. I found that ExeSlide can generate any number of images - even a single image - and display it effectively and cleanly as a reminder. In addition, ExeSlide contains its own image viewer so no additional viewer software is required and, of course, there is no command prompt to interfere with the image display.
