This Flash-based puzzle game offers a daunting challenge, although we wished it also offered user-customization options. In Allout, you must simply turn out all the lights on the gameboard by clicking them with your mouse. However, disabling one light will often make others come on, so you must use strategy to be successful. While we easily blew through the first few puzzles, the game made us sweat from the fifth board on. The cartoon-style graphics are decent enough to get the point across, and you can resize the game to full-screen mode for a better view. Allout's biggest disadvantage is it doesn't offer any features, such as the ability to play against a friend or disable the sound effects. We also didn't appreciate that the game installed several unwanted shortcuts on our desktop. Still, since it provides a large number of puzzles and doesn't cost a dime, we can recommend the game to all puzzle devotees.
