Agriculture for Nutrition for Android

Malnutrition is a critical issue for Sindh Province that contributes significantly to the cycle of poverty in which many families are caught. Starting with malnourished mothers who give birth to malnourished children, the problem shadows people throughout their life, leading to more health problems throughout their lifetime, lower economic productivity, and lower lifetime earnings. Consumption of nutritious diversified food can be a good source to reduce malnourishment. In Sindh province 60 % rural population is engaged in agriculture business. Traditionally agriculture sector is focused mainly on producing commercial crops and the need of diversified nutritious crops, vegetable and fruits is always neglected. It is because of the reason that they are not aware of nutritional value of the diversified foods with reference to their health and same time they are also unaware of cultivation of integrated diversified vegetables and fruits. Extension agents can play a significant role to introduce updated production technologies of nutritious diversified food among farmers but they do not have updated knowledge of modern production technologies of nutritious diversified food and same time they also do not have capacity and access to updated Information Communication Technologies (ICTs) to communicate frequently updated and timely information regarding nutritious diversified food to the farming communities. This Mobile Phone App Agriculture for Nutrition creation aimed to provide information about agriculture for nutrition approach to the all stakeholders.

This is 1st Mobile Phone related to Agriculture for Nutrition in English and Sindhi in Pakistan.
