Advanced PDF2Word (PDF to RTF) for Windows

Adobe PDF files are extraordinarily useful for distributing documents online, but when it comes to editing, ordinary text often is more convenient. This tool is aimed at converting PDFs into the common Rich Text Format (RTF), a form that in theory preserves formatting, and can be edited in most word processors. However, our tests showed the program to create nearly as many problems as it solved.

The software did an adequate job of converting simple PDFs that contained no advanced formatting or embedded images. However, it turned more complicated documents into an unreadable mess, and it simply hung when we tried to process a large PDF file. The program offers only two conversion options: with images and without, too few to deserve the name "Advanced." With powerful competitors on the market that deliver much better results, we would advise most computer users to look elsewhere.
