Works great!

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
Great program! I had a little trouble with the first run, but followed the suggestions on the FAQ page and all wen well. I was expecting the groups to be copied from one to another - which it doesn't do. Not a big deal - just create matching groups before you sync.
works nice...

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
I dislike having personal information, like addressbooks sent to some central server, over the internet. This application is a perfect solution.
It is easy to use and does what it says,..and it keeps the sync within your local network.
Opening the port 9879, works through the firewall.
I received immediate email assistance to my support question.
Thanks,...!

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
Nice idea, but doesn't work. I ran on both machines (iMac 17" & 17" Tibook). Selected "sync" on the iMac. Then I waited, and waited, and waited, and waited, and waited. After 30 minutes I killed it. I don't know, perhaps if I gave it a few years it might have worked. But when that same addressbook can sync (even from empty) in must a minute or two with my Palm I would expect nothing less when two high speed Macs talk. Keep working on it, I'd love to see a functional version.
1 star for now, more when it works.
Can only Sync one way!

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
Nice idea. Wish it worked. Actually it seemed it was working as I could run it OK on my iBook to sync with my iMac (both running 10.3.2). But no way can I get it to do anything but spin its wheel on the iMac when trying to sync with the iBook.
Yes, I've done the "Export everything to vCard, delete folder & plist, import vCards". I did that on both Macs. No difference. I deleted the folder & plist on the iMac and imported the iBook's vCard file to the iMac; should make them identical; still no go.
Guess I'll have to keep my eye out for an updated version sometime. It's just about useable the way it is (by getting the iBook in sync with the iMac and then copying the result back to the iMac) but it's far from ideal.
And finally: it's a shame that some pro-Bush people don't appreciate just how universally reviled the current administration is throughout the rest of the world, or don't think that is of any consequence.

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
I thought Notes field syncing wasn't working, until I re-read the FAQ and realised that the preference to include notes info in vcard export is in *AddressBook* itself.
As for the comment below: The developers do NOT belittle the USA. They are NOT arrogant. They criticise the *current administration* of the USA, not everyone else or the country as a whole. This has nothing to do with WWII. Expressing one's opinion in a FAQ on a website is no more bad for the international community than childishness like 'freedom fries' and 'freedom toast', etc.
Very nice

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
This app worked perfectly right out of the box, and I am excited to not have to worry about keeping track of changes made in my PowerBook of desktop. I recommend this program.
Only problem is that I have to keep making the same decisions regarding some addresses across multiple syncs.
Not too bad

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
Nice implementation. Better than nothing (which is what Apple has offered those of us who refuse to use .mac). However, wish it would support synchronization of ALL fields (especially notes). Also, only imports changes, doesn't export them. This makes it a bit of a paint to keep two machines in synch (if changes have been made on both machines, the app must be run on each machine to import the changes from the other). WHEN IS APPLE GOING TO GIVE US A WAY TO SYNCH WITHOUT EXTORTING THE FEE FOR .mac (NOT TO MENTION, REQUIRING US TO PUBLISH PRIVATE INFORMATION TO A COMERCIAL SERVER)?
it works

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
Finally, a way to synchronize select address book groups between my wife's and my own Address Books! I wish that Apple had built this capability into Address Book natively, but until then... this is a workable solution.
