Entouraid saved the day!
marioandretti- Pros
- I'm using a non Intel ibook 1,33 on 10.4.11 and Office v.X A fter placing an ad I started receiving lots of e-mails with big attachments.I read some, most were unread. After shutting the ibook down, I could not open Entourage anymore. Database size was 2,7 gb, but rebuilding wasn't possible. I tried loads of stuff Not enough space..Compacting 2,7 GB made it bigger then the max 4GB? Tried it in Entourage 2004 because that hasn;t got the 4 GB limit, Nothing worked. After some googling found "Entourage Export Import" seems good, but way to difficult for me. `'Stellar" did not retrieve a single item in trial mode. Entouraid found 20 mails in trial mode and I was aible to read them, by placing the created mbox file in a clean Entourage set up. After paying 18 dollars I asked for a serialnumber by e-mail and got it. I let Entouraid retrieve mails out of the last 700 MB. lt found some 500 e-mails. Not all readable but especially the e-mails with attachments were safed! and those I needed!
- Cons
- You have to be patient because you can't see the progress, isn't a serious con though. If you download it you are probabvly in deep shit and you would like the serial number ASAP.
- Summary
- I was in some deep shit and Entouraid pulled me out! I am a normal user and I find this to be easy tyo do fore someone with basic computer knowledge (knowing how to download and install software and with knowledge about Entourage database rebuilding .

Updated on Nov 18, 2011
I only retrieved e-mails out of the last 700 mb (just a guess) because I had a working backed up database from 1 week before
One great product

- This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
An older friend's Entourage db was so badly corrupted she could hardly use her computer. A rebuild of the 3.2 gig original presented a 4 gb atrocity that not only gagged Entourage, but froze the Mac. EntourAid at $18 sucked out over 8,000 emails, addresses and attachments in little under an hour, without splitting the db. It will take awhile to restore my friend's 10 year old address book and favorite mails, but they are recovered, with little fuss, and she is breathing steadily once again. The developer/owner Sol continues to maintain this gem of a program which is worth much more than the asking price. I ran it on a Mac intel duo running 10.5.8, having transferred the corrupt db. Did the sorting and importing here for purposes of speed and will reload her iBook running 10.4.11 later. Thank you Sol.
EntourAid - Brilliant for us Non-Techies

- This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
Having lost all of my emails because of a corruption in one of my identities on entourage I was puling my hair out trying to find something that I could use. There was lots of techie stuff out there with very little instructions for non techies and then I fell upon entouraid and managed to recover most of my emails. The instructions were simple and then when I had a little problem the developer got back to me straight away and fixed it. Great product and great people to deal with

- This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
This program recovered less than 5% of my database, and most of the emails it did recover lacked subjects, dates, and other important info. This was really a letdown. Save your $$.
Will NOT recover contacts, only emails

- This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
PROBLEM: Entourage gave me an "errors 4360" when I tried to form and email group. When I restarted my Mac, Entourage would not start up >> "unknown error". Spent hour on phone w/ MS, they said it had to be corrupt database. ENTOURAID: I downloaded the trial and it worked for 20 emails recovered. Then bought it for the $18. I would give it a "C" rating. It scavenged about 600 emails, both old deleted useless ones and important saved ones, BUT most of them were scrambled eggs inside. However, most importantly, I was able to import the recovered database emails from Entouraid into the MAC Mail, and used them as "contacts" since the program did not save ANY of my 2,500 email contacts. LESSON LEARNED: Never trust MS with you data --> USE MAC OSX not MS !!!
doesn't work

- This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
This software continuously fails to to save the recovered e-mails in a format that can be imported into Entourage. In theory it should work, but in practice it doesn't and I am using Panther 10.3.2 with the latest version of Entourage. I wrote to the developer 3 times, but have not received any response, so I think its safe to say that this is also unsupported software. $18 down the drain.
