Grab this Windows 95/98/NT 4.0 UDF (Universal Disk Format) reader driver.
Adaptec's UDF Reader enables MultiRead CD-ROM drives to read UDF-formatted CD-R and CD-RW discs (such as those written with DirectCD) under Windows 95/98/98SE/NT 4.0/2000.
Having had no effect whatsoever, I have no positive comment.
Cons
After rebooting, (And who doesn't like to reboot), my old Packet CD Disks were still invisible to my system.
Also, there was no entry anywhere to for the Roxio UDF whatever it was...nothing in Programs, and nothing to find to adjust, or select any setiings to.
Summary
Luckily it didn't seem to damage my system, but it was a complete waste of time.
It strikes me as a Fake Ray Of Hope offered to those in need, to try to use the Cnet downloader and install their toolbars. I can understand the need to make a buck, but at least offer actual solutions, especially after getting all in my face on Google, being listed 2nd in the results, and claiming to have the perfect fix. You have been proven to have no Honor or scruples and provide a great Dis-Service to the entire web community.
Just what I needed.

Pros
Works great.
Cons
I have not found any cons to this software.
Summary
I pulled out some photo CD's that I made on my old system and they wouldn't work. I thought I had lost them forever until I found out about the Adeptic UDF Reader Driver. Once I downloaded it, all my old CD's work perfectly.
Do not use with Vista!

Pros
Easy to install but it all goes south after that.
Cons
Reboots computer without warning. I had to boot into safe mode to uninstall this program.
Summary
Never really got to use this software. Once installed and rebooted the computer rebooted again and then a BSOD.

Pros
Worked instantly and gave me access to my files and overwrote an incompatible version already installed.
Cons
It's hard to add a con when the program did what it said it would do.
Summary
Utter failure to read disks saved in DirectCD format

Pros
I could find nothing to like because it failed to work.
Cons
Doesnt' work on my system; no instructions to troubleshoot and no instructions to uninstall.
Summary
Very disappointed. My experience nothing like some of the 'rave reviews' listed, despite following the tip to disable antivirus software during download. Can anyone out there tell me how to make it work, please?
Very good product

Pros
In progress of changing to new computer and upgrading to Vista which, apparently, doesn't come with UDF. Had backed up all important files like My Docs, (inc. a lot of personal stuff), to CD-RW discs formatted as data discs by Easy CD Creator from Roxio, all on old PC. So imagine my dismay when new PC wouldn't read discs. I found your website and downloaded this software and installed it, and guess what, in less than 5 mins., after one re-boot, I was reading my backup discs. So it does work with Vista, even though your blurb doesn't say so. I just took a chance - I'm glad I did. I'm normally wary about downloads, but this one was no problem and installed just like that, so hurrah for this download. It is excellent.
Cons
One minor niggle is that it doesn't let you decide where it is going to download to. It just tells you, too quickly to even read, and then just goes ahead and installs it.

Also, the necessary re-boot just happens without asking your permission to proceed.

Pros
I thought I lost all of my backed up jpg files. When I tried to open the files from my backup cd, Windows said the jpg files were corrupted and I could not get any access to them. After downloading the software and running the installer the exact same files were perfect (good as new). Thank you so much.
