If you're an old pro at ripping CDs, you'll be able to get by with Ace MP3 Ripper. This rather ordinary program performed just fine in our tests, producing high-quality audio in good time. The MP3 settings allow you to choose constant or variable bit rates. However, we suspect inexperienced users would prefer such presets as high quality, medium quality, or CD quality. One bright spot is the advanced option to improve reading CDs, such as the ability to set the number of retries if a disk can't be read. Overall, we wouldn't recommend the utility to beginners, nor should old pros replace their current rippers with this one.
