  Pros

  I've used both Adobe Photoshop Elements and ACDSee Ultimate. I prefer ACDSee Ultimate because it loads faster and is plenty intuitive as an editor. Plus its always been the best photo organizer/viewer, its a huge plus that I can now use it for most if not all my photo editing needs.

  Cons

  I've had ACDSee products for years and have observed that it will occasionally crash, but its infrequent enough to not be any sort of nuisance.

  Pros

  Easy to use. Great file management system that organizes images efficiently and effectively. Excellent editing tools. Good integration with social media. Has layers. Updates show commitment to product life cycle. Great value.

  Cons

  Digital river distribution shopping cart can be confusing. Have to choose between editing and developing modes. Search function is complicated and weak and lacks lacking ability to search all iptc fields simultaneously.

  Summary

  I have been using ACDSee Pro for over 10 years with approximately 35k images in the database. Have tried Gimp and Lightroom and keep returning to ACDSee, now up to version Ultimate 9 with layers. I like the workflow, the database, and the interface. I highly recommend it.
