Editors’ Review
Absolute Delete securely removes files and folders and frees up disk space, but a tendency to lock up while deleting files is a big negative.
The program's interface is pleasingly simple: check boxes are next to areas available for cleaning, and a single button removes files. Among its nine Windows and Internet options, you can empty the Recycle Bin, delete temporary files, and clear the Recent Documents list. You easily can schedule regular cleanups of selected areas as well. Absolute Delete also integrates with your context menus, allowing you to quickly delete any file or folder or free up disk space when a drive is selected.
Although its features won't blow you away, it would be a decent tool to keep your computer free of unnecessary files and optimize disk space--if only it hadn't crashed a couple of times in our tests. With its instability issues, we can't recommend this seven-day program as a safe way to remove online and offline traces.
