A-PDF Text Extractor helps users remove text from locked PDFs that don't allow for copying and cutting. By performing its task quickly and easily, this program could rescue more than a few users.

The program's interface feels very intuitive and users should not have trouble navigating its small collection of command icons. However, a Help file is available for anyone needing a little more guidance. This program performs its difficult task of copying text from a locked PDF with amazing ease. Users simply seek out the PDF in question by navigating a standard file tree. Next they just click the Extract button. This will ask users for a destination file and not much else. PDFs are converted into .txt files within a matter of seconds. The results were very cluttered .txt files, but they did not show any signs of errors and strangely converted letters, so we call it a certain success. The program also provides users with a deep set of features. Within the Options menu users can choose specific pages to extract or even add a header or footer to the converted text.

By converting PDFs to .txt files quickly and easily, this freeware program is certain to become a necessary tool for users who deal with PDFs often.

Pros
Does what it says. I have no nag, no charge and no missing data.
Cons
When documents are printed in landscape, I have had issues with the output.
Summary
I use the output with print position. Our electronic medical record software (hosted using Citrix) has horrible reporting. I was printing to pdf and then doing a copy, paste and parse the text. This often failed, because the text did not come out consistently. Using the print position allows me to parse the data from reports without issue.
Works as advertised, but installs nagware!

Works as advertised. Even pdf files with non-trivial layouts (tables and such) yield acceptable results.
Cons
Installs nagware ("Boxoft Toolbox") which sits in the system tray being annoying and using 15MB of memory to boot!
Summary
I understand that software developers have to make a living too, but nagware really is a turn-off to an otherwise useful application.

Pros
Looking for PDF to Excel converter (Free) and after finding little to nothing I tried this. I know Adobe has a converter but I could not get it to convert clean. This one did it well and did it fast.
