• Cannot register, and NO support!

  Great when it used to work.

  Cons

  After uninstalling, and reinstalling to latest 2.0 Win 7 version (downloaded from their website)- It would not register (tried Revo uninstall too...- I'm a tech)!? I have emailed their support "several" times with questions, and Never got a reply!

  Summary

  To sell a $40 program, and then supply No support!- Is a Ripoff! The programmer is so busy writing "weird" code to make sure that you only run on one computer (download disappears...), that it's a useless program! I had to manually recover WLM from a folder/file backup (not that easy!).<br /><br /><span class='notifyMsg'> Updated </span>on May 11, 2011<p/>OOPS/Sorry!- I "thought" I was writing a review for the Awful ABC Windows Live Mail Backup, and posted here by mistake! I just might give Static Windows Live Mail Backup a try? I wish there was some way to delete my 1 star review, so it doesn't skew the average?<br /><br /><span class='notifyMsg'> Updated </span>on May 28, 2011<p/>I Now go with my first 1 star review of this product After trying it!- 1. I had several questions, and emailed their non-existent email support (supposedly 48hrs- NOT!)? 2. After waiting a week for a reply, I trialed it- I made a backup, and wrote it to a CD. I then went to my other identical OS/WLM computer, and did a Restore (luckily After an Acronis 2010 backup)?- ALL the data in my folders Disappeared!- I expanded everything looking, but permanently Gone! Help was very brief, and not helpful? Acronis to the Rescue! If you decide to try this junk, I strongly suggest you First make a full image backup!

  Pros

  I had to get the latest version (2.5c) from another site, but it worked very well from the preliminary test I just did backing up/restoring Windows Live Mail's Message Store (default and non-default locations) and Registry Items. Even my signatures were restored correctly (something I could not do with a normal export/import of that registry item).

  Cons

  This may be pedantic, but the backup options/description give the impression that the accounts are recorded in the registry, but they are actually held in the Message Store. The Message Store is called the 'Database' in the options, whereas, the database is but a small part of the Message Store, which is fully backed up/restored.
