A very useful resource for cataloging a media

Pros
OrangeCD Suite has extensive capabilities and good reporting.
Cons
Doesn't actually capture media so needs to be used in conjunction with other capture programs. If files are relocated to a new drive there is no global way to update database path.

Not happy with what I would consider next to no technical support. A joke to say the least. Updated on Apr 16, 2010I have sent NUMEROUS emails to their "SUPPORT" personnel, but they don't have the time to respond. I've gotten ONE reply to 7 emails over almost a month's time. Not what I would consider GOOD TECHNICAL SUPPORT. Less than mediocre and bordering on ludicrous.

I tried several other programs to orgainze and keep track of my music collection and this one is the best I found. It is easy to use, flexible, and customizable.
Cons
Nothing comes to mind.
Summary
If you have your music spread all over -- on your harddrive, on CDs, on vinyl, this program will help keep track of what you have, in what format, and where it is. If you find something better for the purpose, I'll be surprised.

Pros
It's so easy to work with, very intuitive. Downloading information from CD?s is so quick! Very well structured, with all the necessary fields, especially for classical music, where all the other software?s I tried have failed. Beautiful interface.
Cons
Sometimes retrieves the wrong cover from the databases. But it?s nothing serious, because I can get them on Google.
Summary
I have tried several different software?s available on the Internet and none was suitable for my classical music CD's. This one is wonderful! I?m very happy with it!

Pros
It allows you to download data automatically (!) enter data for composers, performers, create CD boxes, specify differente performers for each single music passage, define customized categories, labels etc.
Cons
1) It does not recognize DVDs :( 2) You cannot enter all the times you listened to a CD (therefore you cannot create statistics on your favourite CDs) 3) It does not keep record of CDs that you have borrowed in the past
Summary
After trying many CD management software, I have opted for this one because it's the most complete and flexible tool, especially for classical music, where it's essential to be able to distinguish between composers and performers!

OrangeCD Catalog is the comprehensive music database program for cataloging music in any format: CD, DVD, MP3, iTunes, OGG, FLAC, WMA and other lossless files, and even old LPs and tapes. It can manage classical music collections as well as pop music. To add a new CD to the database, you just need to insert it in your computer or scan barcode from jewel case, and OrangeCD will download all information from FreeDB and Amazon databases, including cover artwork and album reviews. You can organize music bookmarks, keep track of borrowed albums using loan manager, and store artist and composer biographies, discographies, links and notes. The resulting database can be used for browsing, searching, printing or publishing on the web. Now you can quickly check if you own specific album or song, find its exact location on CD shelf, print CD changer index sheet or calculate your total CD library value for insurance. You can create web pages with the list of all your albums and upload them to your website. The feel and look of the web pages is defined by templates and can be easily customized. If you don't have a website, you can publish your music collection catalog on RacksAndTags.com, share it with friends. This will allow you to browse your music inventory from work, school or vacation computer.
