Pros
Open XML allows me to use Word '04 for Mac for those occasional times that receive a docx file. The conversion works seamlessly. Never had a problem or failure.

None really, except with larger files it takes a little longer.

I am a Mac / OpenOffice user. Received a file that was saved in Office 2007 as a DOCS file. Used the Converter and file was converted so could be read. To out it simply, used once and it worked.

Microsoft is kind enough to plug the holes in their bloated software that should have been closed in the first place.

Pros
Once installed, it seamlessly translated a rather large Word file from a colleague. Without it, no translation.
Cons
I noted the AutoUpdate bug. I just don't do updates unless it really is an updated version. but, I do hope they correct this.
Summary
If you need to translate a Microsoft file from Office 08 for Mac or 07 for Windows to Office 04 for Mac -- it gets the job done with no hassle. Would have given it 5 stars if not for the AutoUpdate bug.
