• Easy and Powerful With Learning Curve

  The free version is free contrary to what the negative reviews say. I would add that it possibly should be called a free demo. Yes, a limit of 50 email addresses is small, but the purpose is for the user to try out the software. The features are exactly the same as the paid version. Filtering before sending email allows the user to select part(s) of a mail list, offsetting the limitation of only one mail list for the free and cheapest paid versions. I've found that filtering works fine. I feel that many of the negative reviews are from users/testers who want everything for free. The basic paid version for about U.S.$50 allows the user to have a mail list of 500 email addresses. This is a reasonable price for what the software accomplishes. I love that the responsive templates allow the users to send out newsletters that are formatted beautifully on mobile devices such as smartphones or any devices that recipients read the newsletters on.

  Cons

  To use the full power of MailList Controller, the user ideally should learn HTML. I've found that learning how to insert links to images online has been most helpful. This way, I don't send out email with embedded images that clog up the recipients mailbox. Other than that, although I do know some HTML, I haven't found it necessary with the included templates, to learn a lot of HTML.

  Summary

  I would take the negative reviews with a grain of salt. A lot of whining by people who are too cheap to spend $50. The free version is excellent for testing the software. There are no time limitations and there are no features crippled. The only limitation is that of 50 recipients for the address list. Practically, this is not useful other than being used as a demo to see if you like the product. So what. Try it out and if you find it valuable, spend the money. If, though, you want everything for free, then look elsewhere. And please do post something about a better product that is available for free or at a comparable cost.

  Its not just the limitations of 50 emails/recipients, its not their own people writing good things to make a bad program look better, its just this program is impossible, its asking all wrong questions, its making all the wrong assumptions. We teach software engineering in our college here, we think we are going to make an example of what a good software is NOT supposed to be.

• Useful email utility

  Pros

  Installation is very easy; it needs only few clicks to get installed. This utility has understandable user interface and its features are simple to employ.

  Cons

  Free version provides limited use. We can do only 100 mails to 1 subscriber.

  I have been using the free version for about three years. It was a little frustrating at first, but this was because I was trying to learn it under a time crunch. Once I had the time to sit down, and play with it, I loved it. I used the free version (100 people list) for several smaller marketing pieces and to send results of a campaign to another group. Just upgraded to the paid version and I don't regret it. The hardest part about the free version was that I couldn't maintain more than one list at a time. Now, I'm unlimited. Get it! Much cheaper than options like Constant Comment and you can design your own look or keep it completely minimalist!

  took way too much time and effort. It was really slow and took forever to set up a list. I couldn't get through it the 2nd time I tried and gave up because it was so slow.

  Pros

  Simple and intuitive to use. Features & function seem to be rock solid with a few exceptions. EASY to set up POP and SMTP servers.

  Cons

  Few oddities, like when editing a List member, the list reverts back to top of list when member is saved.

  Summary

  Pricing is good, usage is simple, and the software engineering seems to be very reliable. Solid product, one time purchase price, unlimited use beyond that. This new customer is happy.

  very powerful, and free.

  Cons

  I wished many times while learning the program that I could find online help somewhere. maybe I looked in all the wrong places, which would make me wonder why. I should be able to either intuitively know how to use it or find a tutorial immediately.

  Great program if you have the time to learn how to use it on your own. I am thankful I do.

  Pros

  I run a small community project and worked with the free version for quite a long time. Never had much problems.

  Cons

  As my list grows over 100 I realized that I need the professional version now.

  Summary

  We have a very limited budget, so I cannot spend a lot. This company was very generous to me and gave me a good discount. Thank you!
