• loads tons of malware without permission

  none--I couldn't even get it to function

  It didn't even function plus it loaded 4 malware programs on my machine (without asking permission) that hijacked my browsers. Took hours to scan and clean my machine and reset everything. I'm suprised cnet.com would recommend them based on this practice but maybe it's impossible to police.

  Summary

  Don't do it unless you don't care whether the software works and don't mind lots of malware messing up your day.

  You can not only split but also divide as it says , the automatic part is much easier to use

  No cons , better than xilisoft video splitter , it couldnt split and yet converted the format

  Summary

  I had a MPEG2 video file that i wanted to split in parts. After opening the file and plying it in the software, when attempting to split the video, the software sends an error message "invalid file". How can it be an "invalid file" if you just played it?!?!?! It does not work.. it plays the video, it shows you how it will supposedly be divided but once you push the "split" button, an error message will pop up! =/ DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME DOWNLOADING IT.

  Pros

  I didn't get as far as splitting anything so it is hard to say, but it was able to import my video and scroll through it, as would any video player.

  Cons

  The only fine tuning is one frame at a time, so it is very difficult to mark the begin / end of a clip.

  Summary

  If you want to split one video one time into 2 parts, this might be ok, but if you want to do 10 videos in to 10 parts each, try again next year when it's developed a little more.

  very easy to use manually set the starting and ending time of the video (you can select any part of the video) it supports a lot of extensions

  Cons

  it installs two more programs that I don't want on my computer: k-lite codec pack and avisynth

  I'm a nerd that enjoys creating videos in Sony Vegas Pro. Recently, I've been getting into Harry Potter videos and wanted to start making my own. However, my movie files are so large that Vegas would always crash when I imported them... That's why I downloaded this. And I have to say, I'm impressed, I really am. I cut my movies into 10-12 parts on average, and have only had an issue once or twice. This issue was that the first part didn't split quite right and was just a few kb in size. But since it works so quickly, it wasn't any trouble to just run the program again and re-do it. Really, most of the time, its splits are clean and retain all of the quality they had originally. I'm sorry that so many others seem to have problems, but for me, I didn't need any instructions and it operates smoothly. It's a small file anyway, so it's worth a shot!

  Real basic program that does what it states it does.

  Cons

  I needed to install this on a new computer. I get a message stating that the product key is no longer valid and I need to contact support for a new one. I've have emailed support email address given twice, and yet to have gotten a response.

  Summary

  There are better programs out there. Some with support that actually respond to you. For the money I spent on this, I should be getting at least an email back. Don't waste your money on this program.
