• Freeware works the same. . . and is free!

  Pros

  This classic word menu program works like it should, however, once the trial period ran out $29.95 was just too much to pay when there are freeware programs like UBitmenu that do the same thing and are free for personal use.

  Cons

  Not freeware!

  Summary

  There are multiple free options that offer the same functions as this program, and there are commercial options that cost less - do a websearch for both categories. I've gone back to UBitMenu for their version of the classic word menu.

  Pros

  The menus are added easily with the installation of the program and make Office 2007 functional like Office editions issued earlier, e.g., Office 2003.

  Cons

  It is a third party program and sometimes Microsoft Updates will disable third party programs. Usually there is a work around but it is a pain. NOTE: I have not had any problems with the Office 2007 Menu Program.

  Summary

  This program supplies what Microsoft stupidly left out of the new Office 2007 program. When first installed, Office 2007 does not show a file folder on the "Ribbon" to be able to open a file. That is why I downloaded and bought this program. (The secret is that you must click on this tiny down arrow to expose the file folder icon.) With the Menu program you can forget about the "Ribbon."

  It seems you can't create new toolbars and you can't move the ones that are there.

  Summary

  Good product! I give it Five Stars for improving a flawed interface but Three Stars for not going far enough. Or maybe they went as far as Microsoft would let them.

• Save my money on Office 2007 Ribbon training

  Pros

  It relieves me from frustrating endless searches for common buttons and menus. When I turned to Office 2007 at the beginning, I get puzzled and can't work at all, because I was looking for buttons! Thanks to this add-in, it brings back friendly old menus and toolbars, and it helps me work easily. Classic Menu for Office 2007 creates office 2007 menus, I like it.

  Cons

  Why the old menus and toolbars are under Menus tab, but not replace the whole Ribbon?

  IT IS BETTER THAN THE NEW ONES.

  I FEEL IT NEEDS TO OVERRIDE THE MS OFFICE THAT YOU ARE IN. AND NOT LEAVE THE OLD ONE ON THERE WITH IT. TOO CONFUSING.

  easy to use, just what I needed

  have had to uninstall & download again -- twice -- to get past a registration bug

  makes using the newer versions of WORD easier, more productive, because the best of the now-changed features are once again easily acessible.

  Pros

  This product also works for 2010. It is a good program to use when the ribbon is too frustrating to find things and you have exhaust your time.

  Cons

  It does not contain all the pull down tasks. The website clearly says for personal use, there is no charge. If there is a trail person, than I will delete it.

  Summary

  Anyway you look at it MS has packed too many tasks that people cannot find. Who knows how you find Scientific notation or underscores using the ribbon...? The ribbon is the biggest obstacle for power users. This helps ease the transition. That said, Open Office is a viabible competitor as they don't have the same issues as MS with the tool bars

• Trial version uninstall was a nightmare

  Pros

  What ever they do right was outweighed by what they did wrong.

  Cons

  I first tried the Classic Menu for Excel & when the free trial was up, it started giving me a "nag message" which progressed without warning to where Excel would not even start, even after uninstalling the product. Took me most of a day to fix this!!

  Summary

  Very buggy or deliberate malware triggered when uninstalling this product.

  Pros

  Office 2007 was my first exp. with Office. I had asked for help from a friend who had a ealier version. He found it difficult to help me because 2007 was so different from his version. After downloading this it was much easier for him to help me.

  Cons

  I find no fault with this.

  Pros

  As a collage student I have no time to learn Microsoft's new Ribbon Interface. I've been using Office for years and hate that Microsoft has forced this new Ribbon Interface on its users.

  Cons

  Price is steep but fair enough.

  Summary

  It makes Office 2007 work and feel just like 2003.
