BreakTaker is a lightweight application for Windows that reminds you to take breaks while working on your computer.

By encouraging you to take short breaks at regular intervals, BreakTaker can increase your overall productivity and can alleviate common workplace injuries resulting from fatigue, eye strain, and repetitive stress injury.

After launching BreakTaker, right click its icon to change the time between break notifications. The default notification delay is 55 minutes.

Do not use this program on windows 8.

Pros
It does exactly what you ask it to reminds you to take time to do other things at set intervals you can change. You can ignore the break and it will remind you with a red reminder that indicates the ignored break and asks that you take a break. All with friendly suggestions like.... stopping for 30 seconds to stare into the distance.
Cons
This thing is basically an app a relic of windows vista/7 so it has a weird install path. C:\Users\*name*\AppData\Local\2.0\ which is obnoxious for uninstalling the item at least in windows 8 because the uninstaller only removes the program from the Programs and Features list leaving the rest of the program in the above file location.
Summary
I love this program and hope the author fixes it to work with windows 8/9 and into the future.

Pros
I have found this very helpful to remind me to stop staring at my monitor at regular intervals. This has helped greatly with mild eye strain headaches.
Cons
None really. I'd like to have some more user customizable settings. Message location, size.
Summary
Recommended if you just can't stop sometimes.
