It is ideal for small businesses that do not need to backup terabytes of data as well as medium enterprises that have already invested in VMware ESX virtualization and SAN storage infrastructure. The virtual appliance solution enables them to use their existing desktop PCs or servers with VMware Player or Workstation and implement a comprehensive onsite and offsite remote backup solution.Implementing the SmartFiler Virtual Backup Appliance solution is simple and requires only minimal IT expertise. Simply extract the downloaded appliance backup software onto a hard disk on the local network for onsite backup and extract another copy onto a removable hard disk for offsite backup.
