"Low Cost DP Application"
Version: iWinSoft Page Layout Designer 2.2.3.1
Pros
Easy to use, especially with the collection of templates making it easy for the less than experienced user to whip out a decent looking document quickly
Cons
It seems to be a Carbon Mc OS 9 application quickly ported to Mac SO X. Also, it is NOT a Universal Binary. It is a PPC product that will require Rosetta for Intel Mac users.
Summary
Good:
Easy to use and inexpensive DTP solution for the cash-strapped.
Not so good:
Old "Classic' application look and feel. It seems to be a "Classic" Carbon application adapted to run under Mac OS X. It is a bit jarring to reverse gears and go back more than a decade for me, an old Mac user, but it might be a bit troublesome for those newer Mac usders who never used "Classic" Mac OS in its native habitat.
Not a Universal Binary, despite the Universal logo that appears in some documentation and the claims of it being Universal, it is in fact a purely PowerPC application. It will run under Intel versions of Mac OS X, but requires Rosetta emulation to do so.
