With all the controls, slider bars, and buttons, you'd think this application was a soundboard for professional DJs. But it's merely designed to play a sound to scare away potential computer thieves. This is the software equivalent of overproduced. iFufi2 is a program that desperately needs a guide to getting started. Unfortunately, the publisher's Web site, Help file, and FAQ are no longer available.
Based on similar programs, we were perplexed by iFufi2's incredible busy interface. There are no less than eight slider bars, for everything from Alarm Sound Base Alteration to Microphone Trigger Length Detection. If that isn't enough interface complexity, there are more than ten other buttons and settings, including a Speaker Test.
With iFufi2's most basic configuration, you simply set the mouse trigger sensitivity and the activation delay. Then you use the top interface buttons to activate the mouse detection option. Similar program perform the same function with a button click or two. Without much more work, microphone enabled systems can also be set to trigger the alarm.
iFufi2's three traditional alarms and three barking dog sound effects should satisfy most users. Users who prefer the personal touch can create their own alarms in a surprisingly conventional and easy way. The alarm works, but wasn't loud enough even set at full volume. Increasing volume through your system adds too much distortion for out taste.
iFufi2's short seven-day trial is six and half days more than you need to discover that this program is more complex to set than needed and less than enough to help keep your computer safe.
