Editors' review

Designed as a cheaper alternative to Adobe Acrobat, eXPert PDF Editor Professional Edition allows users to edit existing documents and create PDFs from scratch, mixing text, images, links, and bookmarks. However, the moniker Professional Edition seems misleading, as the program doesn't support advanced features such as forms and scripting. Also, the disorganized interface wastes too much space on logos and large buttons. On the plus side, the tabbed display makes it easy to edit several documents at once. However, in the end, eXPert PDF Editor's handful of strong points can't make up for its meager feature set and sloppy controls.

"Works well, No Watermarks on Trial Edition"

    September 17, 2009   |   By banjoman87

Version: eXPert PDF Editor Professional Edition 1

    Pros

No watermark on trial edition, unlike many of the other PDF editors. User Interface was easy to navigate after only about 5 minutes of tinkering around beforehand.

    Cons

User Interface is not particularly intuitive, but once you get the hang of it, you'll do fine. Some characters were not able to be displayed in certain situations (could not use "z" in several spots).

    Summary

Trial edition is good for smaller edits. If you regularly edit large documents, perhaps spending the cash on a more premier pdf editor is the worth it. However for minor, infrequent edits, this software is just the ticket.

    "I got what I wanted"

    August 29, 2008   |   By gpetrowitsch

Version: eXPert PDF Editor Professional Edition 1

    Pros

Easy to install, easy to work with, free, no limitations

    Cons

Zoom factor in Page view can't be changed (always only very little thumbnails).

    Summary

As it's free, I don't downgrade it because of the space used for the logo, as the editor did. For making some corrections in a pdf file, it's quite useful. For making larger changes, I don't think editing a pdf directly is the best choice anyway.

    "A bit clunky but works"

    June 17, 2006   |   By lakerman

Version: eXPert PDF Editor Professional Edition 1

    Pros

The price is unbeatable for a PDF editor. For simple editing on PDF files, the software works the way it was suppose to.

    Cons

It will take a lot of time for the Editor to open big PDF files. There are certain parts of PDF files that this software can't edit. For parts that it can, it might take some time for the Editor to identify the editable parts before any editing can be done. User needs to be patient with this software.
