• Love it! looks and feels like AutoCAD

  -Friendly interface -2D & 3D features -Fast..Can export as CorelDRAW and CorelDesiner files -can open and save .dwg files -inexpensive compared to AutoCAD -easy to learn similar functions and commands with AutoCAD -great tool for graphic designers

  Still new...I need to play with it more..

  Summary

  I am an instructor of AutoCAD for 12 years now and after using CorelCAD, I can say it can be an AutoCAD replacement. While I am using it , sometimes I forget that I am using CorelCAD not AutoCAD. As a graphic designer, CorelCAD is so useful specially when presenting ideas to people. I create technical drawings in CorelCAD...then export it to my favorite graphics software (CorelDRAW)...then add effects to my drawing..and create a perfect presentation. Everyday I discover something new and powerful about this software. Great job Corel, CorelCAD is what I am waiting for for years.. With my knowledge of CorelDRAW, CorelPhotopaint, and now CorelCAD..now I can say I am a complete designer.

• Seems like an expensive rehash of free CAD software

  Pros

  No sure of any after trying the demo.

  Cons

  There are free CAD software that appear to have similar functionality. For example, there is a program called DraftSight that has been available for free ( www.draftsight.com ). The CorelCAD interface looks very much the same as it!

  Summary

  I fail to see the originality of CorelCAD nor its price justification considering that there are free alternatives with sufficient functionality. I did not notice any significant contributions to my workflow with CorelCAD.
