Xenu's Link Sleuth is spidering software that checks Web sites for broken links. It performs verification on normal links, images, frames, backgrounds, and local image maps. It also displays a continously updated list of URLs that you can sort by different criteria. Users can request reports at any time. This program supports SSL Web sites and partial testing of FTP and gopher sites, and can detect and report redirected URLs.

I am thrilled to find such a resource for free, since I maintain only a few websites, most for non-profits. It works well and quickly.

Opens quickly. Easy copy/paste. Easy to run "tidy" from sourceforge to clean html. Easy to drop formatted text, to lose the formatting. lots of prompts to create code.
Cons
Tools to create html and css codes are good but not blindly easy.

Pros
This is an exceptional tool for web page integrity. I use it primarily for creating web pages for non-profit organizations so the price can't be beat. When I moved to a new operating system or computer, the author worked with me to repair some bugs.
Cons
I can't think of anything I do not like. Too many broken links come frmo my limited testing environment and not the product.
Summary
My web pages have far fewer problems since I run Xenu's Link Sleuth on every page I create.
