"Great product just needs better template packs!"
Version: Xara Web Designer MX 6.0
Pros
Fast, efficient, easy to use, flexible to custom code to various parts of website for programmers. Always being updated to add more value and pricing is very competitive.
Cons
Lack of professional designed templates, Not programmer friendly it would be nice to be able to call up certain actions (i.e syntax for things like css, html, java script etc...) depending on what language you are programming in.
Summary
Great program and will pay for its self very quickly and allows a fast mock up site to be created for clients. If you are looking for a great program that will continue to grow definitely buy it. If you are looking for more professional templates due to strict client standards you will be better off visiting: http://www.xaratemplate.com their are a few designs available for sale and can be viewed live on website. More designs will be coming within a couple of weeks.

"If you are a business owner, stay away"
Version: Xara Web Designer MX 6.0
Pros
Fairly easy to use with a descent amount of templates. The site I created looked clean and I received more people attention due to this fact.
Cons
There are only two real complaints:
1. The navigation or menu bar on occasion tended to mix up the page links. This only occurred on sub-menu applications.
2. Customers would find themselves being automatically forwarded to Xara's website.r.Summary
If you are a business owner and don't want your customers complaining about being exited off your site only to end up on Xara's webpage, then this software isn't for you.
Realistically, I really liked the way the site came together with ease of use. Any other company would have some permanent insignia on the site that a potential customer can link to at their own will. This was a big turn off and threw me into the world of Joomla. -
"A Web development tool for users for the rest of us."
Version: Xara Web Designer MX 6.0
Pros
Easy to learn, easy to use. Make Dreamweaver look like a torture device.
Cons
Not for geek coders. Lets be clear if your writing e-commerce sites this is not the tool for you, but for the other 90% of humanity this is it.
Summary
What's not to like. Clean user interface. A graphical environment the way the web was meant to be. On a scale from 1-10 we are at a 9. Why not 10? add some features for website background graphics, search a site and you have a 10.

"Not very intuitive, some features hard to use"
Version: Xara Web Designer MX 5.0
Pros
Nice templates
Can produce a very basic decent-looking web page fairly easily
Can preview different colors and text on an object by just mousing over drop-down listCons
Can't add form objects (text boxes, dropdowns, etc.) ; this means you have to add these by hand after the page is created, which is not practical for someone who does not know HTML
Working withh layers difficult
Changing colors not that easySummary
If you just want to produce a very basic page with no functionality execpt for links, this is OK. But having to add all form objects by hand negates the usefulness. OK if you stick with their color schemes on buttons, etc., but changing them is a pain. Wish I would have bought something else.
