  Pros

  Nusphere has really helped our company to develop websites for our clients efficiently. We have a hot schedule for finishing up projects so software like Nusphere that increases developer efficiency really helps accomplish our project requirements in a timely manner. And built-in support for Tortoise SVN helps our team a lot. Nusphere is a great tool, that maximizes the php development, we tried another tools, but its integration with many frameworks is just fantastic. I think nusphere contains one of the best debugger and can solve many debugging problems. There are many choices, best way to decide is to try them all and judge them.

  Pros

  I use many different programing environments and this is acceptable in terms of funtionality

  I purchased this a few months ago and got a free upgrade from 6.1 to 6.2 and it did not accept my serial number. The really poor thing is the IDE will not allow me to do any work or try to put my username in again (you only get one try)...it just locked me out and I have to wait for their support to get back to me before I can correct the situation. So I am not working now and this is unacceptable to me.

  Summary

  If I had known about the lock out, I would not have purchased this product as I will hopefully be locked out only until Monday.

• Reliable, fully-featured, highly usable, but...

  Pros

  It works, extremely well, very fully featured, stable and not at all buggy. Simultaneous multi-language support is wonderful.

  Cons

  Lots of little annoyances. Built-in help is extensive and fast, but incomplete in the details.

  Summary

  It works right out of the box, and you can turn off the stuff that you don't want. In my case, I don't want project explorers and all that jazz, just a nice clean editor. The way it picks up the current language in a file that has a mix of html, js and php is brilliant. I use my own site upload program (WinSCP3) which uploads as soon as I save the file so I can't comment on that side of it. I like the way the editor behaves very much like Microsoft Visual Studio (which I use all day at work) ... but... The editor has a bunch of subtle annoyances. I do a lot of highlighting and dragging of code. Tons of it, but PhpEd loses the highlight when you drop it so you can't easily make multiple copies of anything. When you drop you have to be absolutely precise with the cursor or it doesn't do the drop but loses the highlight. There are several other similar little irritations that drive me bonkers. The online help is a great feature and appears complete, but there are some significant little holes. The stuff is there but the documentation is sketchy or just plain misses things out. This thing isn't cheap and I'd hope for a little better. I tried getting the debugger to run on my PC, but the amount of work required to make it all hang together with different paths on a different OS was too much effort for me in the end, and I abandoned the idea and went back to testing direct from the server. I did get some simpler scripts working and the debugger worked just fine though The world is a better place for having PhpEd, but if they'd take care of those tiny things, it'd be even better.

• Easy setup - great debugger - better than Zend Eclipse

  Pros

  In my humble opinion, the best PHP IDE you can get for any price. It has a solid debugger, integrates with NuSphere's Encoder, DB connectivity, CVS integration, ... use it and compare it side-by-side with any Zend or other IDE and you will agree.

  Cons

  Hard to criticize, I would wish for better SubVersion support (which can still be used less conveniently through the shell-menu).

  Summary

  This is a full-featured and very well-supported PHP IDE. It comes with a very solid and feature-rich, yet simple to set-up and use debugger. It has all expected features, including remote debugging, integration with NuSphere's Encoder, DB connectivity, embedded Mozilla & IE browsers, NuSOAP wizard, CVS integration, etc. I purchased it early during the free 30-day trial period and my only regret is not having used PhpED earlier.

• Best IDE

  Pros

  I tried about 25 free php editors of big names and small names (old and new). If you really want to minimize coding, you have to evaluate this product. This is a serious first class PHP IDE. A very very reliable debugging tools make your life easy which you can never find in any product at the same price. i have just licensed the product after evaluating it.<p>Simple to learn. Efficient. Rich of features. User Experience maintained. Very usable. The easiest to install (all php and web server settings are preconfigured). It has its own PHP 4 and 5 installation with its own web server and does not conflict with your own installations. It is not expensive (you can even ask for discounts if you special cases, the standard edition is cheap). Integrated help environment for all technologies it works with. Not hungry for hardware resources in comparison with other IDEs. Stable. Stable. The product site is very rich for support. videos and training guides are available in the site for beginners. Please do not waste your time evaluating free php editors (with all my respect to them, they are all a waste of time).

  Cons

  As usual with most of the php IDEs, it lacks WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get), so you have to keep working on your own HTML WYSIWYG editor.
