Don't waste time switching apps; switch directly between windows instead.
Have you ever wanted to switch to a certain window, not just the application it belongs to? While you can use Expose to switch windows, doing so can be very clumsy if you're the keyboard-only type of user. And don't all of these windows look just the same when they are scaled down? Witch lets you access all of your windows (in all Spaces, if you're using Mac OS X 10.6 and Witch 3.2 or newer) by pressing a shortcut and choosing from a clearly arranged list of window titles. Moreover, you can use Witch to. Directly access minimized windows without using your mouse. Close minimized windows without bringing them to front first. Zoom, de-/minimize, and close windows on the fly.
This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
I wanted an app that would replace OS X's Application Switcher and would be able to exclude apps that are not useful to me in Application Switcher.

Happily, this preference pane does this and more but:

--There's too much latency if I want to instantly cmd-tab toggle between my present app and my last used. That is, I don't want to see Witch if I'm instantly toggling--but Witch momentarily presents its screen and there's a short delay before I see my previous app

--I'm not interested in seeing all the open windows associated with a running application; I just want to switch between applications (and the last-used open window of that application). That's how the native Application Switcher works. The result is that, despite the customizable elimination of applications that appear in Witch, the Witch toggle list is longer than what I had before, thereby defeating my original purpose.

...su
This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
Great product but doesn't work properly with Spaces.
When you use Witch's keyboard shortcut to cycle through ALL of your applications when Spaces is active, Witch won't show you all of your applications from the OTHER spaces. It shows you SOME of your applications from the other spaces, but not ALL of your applications from the other spaces. You actually have to switch over to that other space first and THEN use the keyboard shortcut to cycle through those applications that are located in that space. But then the same problem crops up over there -- the applications from the PREVIOUS space that you were in don't all show up again.

Works great but now costs money

Everyone has to eat but it's annoying that this software went shareware for $9.99 like every other piece of Mac software you need.
Nice but...

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
To get the Windoze-like window switcher experience (alt+tab on windows), youâ??ll have to change the default "sort windows by " pref to "window activity", not "applicaton activity".
The only non-sweet thing about it is that the switcher overlay window still needs some graphic finishing ... the icons look somewhat pixeled on my screen (I got a lot of windows open).
Itâ??s perfect otherwise, I can feel no delay on a 2GB Intel Mac.
Iâ??ll certainly donate for that.
Works right out of the box!

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
Amazingly like lightswitch but with resolution down to the individual window as opposed to just the application. No delay whatsoever on my G4. Would be nice if, like Lightswitch, we could right click on a window in the display and have a contextual menu to do things like disable app from being viewed in Witch. However, I typed in the name of an app (in the Prefs) that I didn't want displayed, and it immediately disappeared. (I'm not sure of the syntax yet for separating if I input a 2nd app; probably just a comma.) I love being able to customize the colors of every little detail in its appearance.
Maybe Peter Needs To Charge for it?

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
This is the program I've been searching for. I have been using LiteSwitch and, despite the previous review, LiteSwitch is a great program. However, the IntelMac broke it.
Witch is a dream come true, and could make me forget LiteSwitch. It is soo incredibly customizable. You can show windows that are visible, you can display only windows that are in the dock, you can display windows of the current app, you can display only visible windows of the current app... you get the idea. Absolutely amazing control of what is displayed on your computer.
However, it is too, damn slow!!! It does take upwards of 5 seconds for the screen to appear. Once it appears, it works fine, but if I have to think about whether I should access a window in another way, then there is a problem.
Peter, you have to get the delay out. It doesn't need any other features. If you need funding, start charging for this product. It's worth at least $20. Hell, I'll send you $20 to get started. Am I begging? Yes! It's because this program could be the killer utility of '06 with a speedup.

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
I switched from windows to the MAC and I love it. The only feature from windows that I missed was ALT+TAB.
You can use Command+TAB but that is for applications and you can use Command+` but that does not cycle through windows that are minimized to the dock. Also neither will give you a list of every window that may be open...
Well WITCH has made my wish come true... Now I can finally put windows behind me.
I tried lightswitch and it sucks...
