Wise Program Uninstaller helps you get rid of even the most pesky and stubborn software on your computer. It works much like the standard Windows Uninstaller, but its extra features and Forced Uninstall options make it a good tool to have on hand.
Smooth interface: Wise Program Uninstaller features a streamlined and attractive interface, which shows all the relevant information about how many programs are installed on your computer and how much space they take up. At the top of the window, you'll see a total for all programs, and the main area of the screen is filled with a scrollable list of programs along with their basic details. There is also a search box in the upper right-hand corner of the interface for finding specific programs quickly.
Extra scan: For most normal software, this app works in much the same way that the standard Windows Uninstaller does, especially when you run a Safe Uninstall. But once the program has been removed, Wise takes the process a step further by performing an additional scan to see if any files associated with the newly deleted program were left behind. Once the scan is complete, you can verify the results to ensure they're not actually files that you need, and then erase them as well.
Multiple attempts: Some programs caused the app to freeze when we tried to uninstall them, and those required us to cancel the process and begin again. But ultimately all uninstalls we attempted were successful.
Wise Program Uninstaller gives a great boost to the standard Windows Uninstaller. It's a free utility that runs smoothly for the most part, and it presents features in an accessible way that makes the app useful for people of all experience levels.
Wise Program Uninstaller is a free alternative to Windows Program uninstaller and other paid software remover. With its "safe uninstall" and "Repair Programs", you can remove or repair programs as Windows does. Also this freebie helps you uninstall your unwanted programs or forcibly uninstall the program you can't uninstall by Windows or other programs. Moreover, it also can remove the residual entries which may drive you mad. The much-anticipated Wise Program Uninstaller has many attractive advantages such as easy to use, simple but elegant GUI, but most of all, it is compatible with Win 8 and free of charge.
What's new in this version:
Added the feature of uninstalling the Universal Windows Apps.
I've only used it a few times, but it seemed to work well when I tried it. I've also tried IObit Uninstaller and Revo uninstaller and they also seem to work well. Unlike IObit, it does not do a lot of tinkering with your system. You might wish to have more than one of these on your system since one program may be better than the other in getting rid of a difficult program.
Cannot display "Intel(r) Proset/Wireless software for bluetooth technology" that I want to uninstall. IObit Uinstaller can display it, but it's unable to uninstall it.
So this software is quite useless to me right now.
The few functions which were there weren't able to counteract its fatal flaw (see below).
Spoiled by IObit, there was no powerful or scanning for left-overs by Wise Uninstaller. Instead, there was the standard Windows statement that "leftovers may be removed by the next time you start Windows". Maybe....No thanks, I'm back with IObit Uninstaller 4.3 (don't care for the 5.0 version).
Easy and quick install. There are 2 options when removing a program: Safe or Forced. I am running Windows 8.1 and the Programs and Features uninstaller would not complete. After installing the Wise Uninstaller, the massive 'bad' install of Roxio NXT3 was gone in about 2 minutes. I had previously wasted about 45 minutes waiting for Windows to unsuccessfully complete the uninstall...
I have only used it 1 time, and I did not see anything negative. And it's free... So there's that...
It uninstalled 'mystartsearch' via force uninstall. IObit couldn't after I did its quick and powerful uninstall. Maybe IObit has another way to uninstall it but I couldn't be bothered looking for it.
When installing it I had to uncheck a lot of bad third-party programs, I missed one somehow and downloaded some crap PC cleaner thing, but it uninstalled easily. So at the start, you check the 'custom installation' option and then uncheck all the programs next to the box. On the next windows read what its asking you to install, if it doesn't say 'wise program uninstaller ' press DECLINE.
It's good, but as with downloading anything, READ and uncheck or decline anything in the installation process which isn't the program you were trying to install
The latest version of Wise Program Uninstaller does not launch properly in Windows 8.1. Program freezes during its "Gathering Program Information " phase and can only be halted by a logout or system restart.
I am a Wise cleaner Pro user and have been using their program set of apps for some time. However, with the lousy performance of their uninstaller, I've uninstalled Wise and am using ASC! At least everything in ASC 8.0 works properly.
uninstalls everything that you have installed. it really helped me with uninstalling those crappy hidden applications that i installed by just cliking "next", "next", "next", "install" and didnt' see something in between and couldn't uninstall them normally.
