• Freeware that should be in your arsenal.

  Pros

  For me, it was quite intuitive to use compared to some others I have tried and does a fair to middling job of recovery from the Waste Basket, IF YOU SIMPLY DELETED what you are after. If you used a multi-pass tool, few can help you.

  Not as good as the ones I mentioned.

  The program works quick and gives you a map of the drive your are interested in.

  Cons

  The program didn't locate any specific files, only found lost folders. I could see any specific files to have it rebuild or restore to useful condition.

  Summary

  For proper functioning of this program it seems to matter how the files were lost. I didn't delete any files, they were just gone. I was testing an external USB flash drive and had asked a third party program to see if the drive was functional. Next time the drive was used, it appeared empty.

  Wish I knew if this program would have worked if I hadn't previously tryed Stellar. Guess I'll never know. Stellar wasn't awesome - and wish I had another to try for better results.

  It did exactly what I wanted...recovered deleted pics on my SD card. A couple of clicks and I had them back! And it was free! Thanks CNET!

  It's not a wizard software, but I guess that's why it was free. But it worked fine. When I highlighted the drive I wanted it to look at, it brought the photos into a list, but offered no options from there. So if someone doesn't know to right click for options they might be lost at that point.

  First off it is free so that's GREAT!!! Easy to install. Easy to use. Then it did exactly what I needed it to do.

  I absolutely love this program. My freeagent go recently became corrupt. I had two partitions and one would not read, thus the corrupt message. I tried all sorts of programs and nothing worked until this wonderful little program. Easy to install and even easier file retrieval. All I had to do was copy files to my computers hard drive, it was that easy. I definitely suggest this program if you are having issues with data recovery.

  Don't know why it didn't ID any file as recoverable. Could it be that after using defrag, or CCleaner it can't detect them?
