Used FreeFileSync Portable for Windows?
Editors’ Review
FreeFileSync Portable lets you compare and synchronize files and folders, but it doesn't offer much in the way of advanced goodies as there's no way to compress, re-organize, or clean up your files as you're copying them. Still, if you just want a slightly better version of Windows' drag-and-drop system, this program will probably meet your needs.
Though this includes portable right in the name, it checks in at 24MB. That's not massive by any means, but portable programs tend to be less than 1MB. It makes it easier to carry them on a portable drive, after all. This program gives you two separate drop-down lists: one to choose the folder of files you want to copy and another to choose the destination folder. In addition to choosing any folder on your computer, you can choose an attached drive or memory card, if you want. FreeFileSync Portable doesn't offer many ways to customize your backup, other than choosing to mirror the backup or select certain folders. There aren't any options to delete duplicate files or compress the files to save space on your drive. The program's interface is fairly responsive and easy to browse, but the glossy buttons seemed a little cheesy to us.
If you don't currently use a backup utility, this isn't a bad one to choose. It's easy to use and makes backing up your files relatively painless. However, FreeFileSync Portable doesn't do much to compete with more advanced backup programs that let you do more with your files. If you don't mind that, then you'll probably enjoy this basic utility.
