CNET Editors' review
Computer components can sometimes be mysterious things, and getting a comprehensive look at a computer's characteristics can be a time-consuming task. WinAudit simplifies this process by creating thorough reports that outline everything about your machine: hardware, software, memory, processors, and much, much more.
The program's interface is plain and intuitive. Simply click the Audit button and wait a few minutes, and WinAudit produces a lengthy report that can be e-mailed, printed, or saved in a variety of different formats. You can customize the contents of the report before running the audit as well; simply select what you want to include from an options menu that contains 35 categories for auditing, including security, error logs, scheduled tasks, and network BIOS. The program's built-in Help file is well-written and thorough, explaining all aspects of what WinAudit does. We also liked it that the program is compact and runs without installation; it would be a great addition to a USB toolkit for diagnosis and troubleshooting. WinAudit has the capacity to provide copious amounts of information that users may not know what to do with, but for those who do, this could be an extremely valuable utility. Even workers with little computer knowledge could run WinAudit and send the results off to their IT person for review, a capability that could save a lot of time and frustration for everyone involved.
WinAudit comes as a ZIP file and runs after extraction. We recommend this program to all users.

"Does what it's meant to."
Version: WinAudit 2.29
Pros
I down loaded it for just one thing, to find out how long my system had been up and running since I had performed some minor fixes. But it produces a ton of information which could very well come in handy next time I have problems. Interesting feature is that you can export all the data in different formats including to an Excel type spread sheet. Might very well come in handy for either tracking or sending of to Tech Support, my son.
Cons
Can't think of any.
