"Zero stars would be more appropriate"

    April 27, 2014   |   By dranny58

    Version: WebWatcher 8.2.19.1117

    Pros

    Easy to use

    Cons

    Everything else:
    NOT invisible
Impossible to uninstall without company permission
Shows emails as "read" once inspected remotely
Impossible to meet conditions of Refund Policy

    Summary

Invasive, easy to spot on the installed computer, and company policies are designed to cow the consumer. Their disclaimer basically says that they can't be held responsible if the software doesn't work the way the consumer expects it to - huh? I requested a refund 10 minutes after installation once I saw how dreadful it was and how visible and easily detected it was. Nope, can't do it. I have requested they uninstall instructions and do not even care about the money spent - I will call it an expensive lesson.

    DO NOT BUY!!

"don't waste your time and money"

    March 15, 2014   |   By avgjo5

    Version: WebWatcher 8.0.2.993

    Pros

    can see sites visited

    Cons

First day my son complained there was spyware on his computer and proceeded to remove Webwatcher. It was supposed to be undetectable and unremovable.

    Summary

Waste of time and money, don't believe your kids can't detect and remove it.

    "PC & Android Versions"

    December 14, 2013   |   By User_2013

    Version: WebWatcher 8.2.12.1102

    Pros

    Android: txting capture works well.
    PC:
+ Alert words screen capture works well
+ Stealthy. Not detected by Kapersky antivirus
+ Does not slow down computer (or phone)
    + Easy install
+ All data available on web from other PC anytime
+ Support is easy to reach

    Cons

    Android: Geolocate is miserably poor.
PC: - Keylogger only captures half of keystrokes (but seems to get most form entries i.e username/password). Does not capture web emails very well
    - Smart camera feature has an allotmment of 1000 screen captures, then you have to pay to keep getting them (alert word feature keeps capturing screen with words you've chosen with out more cost)
    _

    Summary

Decent at what it does, just doesn't do all the things they say.

"Works only for 1 month, then fails miserably"

    December 07, 2013   |   By PeterNN

    Version: WebWatcher 8.0.2.993

    Pros

Don't believe in the 5-star reviews which are very likely Webwatcher's employees. The software doesn't work reliably and fails completely after a month or so.

    Cons

    Looks nice but doesn't work.

    Summary

Webwatcher doesn't have the technology to do the job as advertised. Look for other software and save your money and headache.

"Glad to find a feature rich product at the right price."

    July 17, 2013   |   By wwwles

    Version: WebWatcher 8.1.23.1056

    Pros

    Cost
    Features
    Installation

    Cons

    Does not work on Iphone

    Summary

We need to monitor more than one computer and the ability to install a program with this many features at such a low cost is perfect. We are able to monitor all activity and since we are monitoring two computers, the reporting and keyword alert features make it manageable. Works fine for us.

    "Secure and Easy to use"

    July 08, 2013   |   By JamesSteif

    Version: WebWatcher 8.1.23.1056

    Pros

Makes my life as a single dad easier
    Keystroke
    Keyword Alerts
    Mobile Monitoring
    Easy to install

    Cons

    Does not work on iPhone.
Takes about 2 weeks to learn everything

    Summary

My life is easier now that I can monitor all of my son's online activity. I recommend this software. I would put it in the bucket of software "must-haves." I wish it worked on the iPhone. I want to get my son an iPhone.

"You want your software to work!"

    June 18, 2013   |   By toniorg

    Version: WebWatcher 8.1.23.1056

    Pros

Makes it easy to monitor the online activity on the target computer.
    Easy to use screen shots
    Quietly monitor PC activity
    Filtering content is easy
    Blocking content is easy

    Cons

Does not work in iPhone. Hard to talk my son into using an android phone.

    Summary

My criteria fo keeping software. It must work, be easy to install and take no more than 1 call to customer service. If I need to make more than one call then the service reps better be professional. Works for me.

    "Avoid! Dishonest company, terrible product."

    June 16, 2013   |   By icwutudidthere

    Version: WebWatcher 8.1.23.1056

    Pros

    1) It captures SOME of the information it claims it will.

    Cons

    1) It misses most of what it purports to capture. The Facebook and email sections of the logs are constantly empty, and these only show up sometimes in the screenshots sections.

    2) Customer service is terrible.

    3) Their goal is to scam customers out of money in any way possible.

    4) They will spam you constantly.

    Summary

Do yourself a favor and stay far away from this service. Actually, "disservice," would be a more honest appellation. I got the product to monitor the kinds of messages people were sending my kids and this was my experience with the product and company:

    1) The software was monitoring a computer with Windows 8. It missed numerous activities on the computer, completely failed to log anything related to Facebook or email specifically, unless there was something in the screenshots. Even then, it missed a great deal and that was also after I'd tried refining the settings. How do I know it missed things? Their mother was using the computer along with them many times and would manually log what was going on so we could compare it to the tracking of the software. Not even close to matching up AND there is a huge lag between when it collects and when it reports. By "huge" I mean that sometimes it is the next day or longer when it reports everything from the previous day. If you are trying to spot a more immediate threat, that is unacceptable.

    2) When you log onto your account, you must always click through a sales pitch from the company first. You can't go to your account without being bombarded with product spam. These guys have mastered the art of annoying, harassing spam, as I will come back to later.

    3) Irritatingly, your account is automatically set to charge you for more screenshots. You have to manually override it. The company, of course, does not make this at all clear when you sign up, so after going through the first round of screenshots, expect to get hit for more of them even if you didn't want them. They aren't the only company that does this kind of thing, but I don't know of any customer who appreciates it and sees this as a service.

    4) When you DO override the automatic payment you might find, as I did, that the company will send you reminders to buy more screenshots EVERY 5 MINUTES FOR SEVERAL DAYS. That is not an exaggeration. They were very very bad about sending me repeated emails about other things as well, but this was the worst.

    5) What the "support" person will tell you when you complain about this is that they are having a problem with the site so you should just unsubscribe to their emails. From my experience, this is just a way that they can charge you for another thing without your approval, and then when you complain, they will tell you that, "well, if you hadn't unsubscribed to our emails, you would have received our notice about that and could have declined to buy." Also, to tell a customer to unsubscribe is basically telling us that the responsibility for their horrible system is ours and that it is not their responsibility to fix their "glitch" (and it probably isn't a glitch to begin with).

If you do a quick search for customer reviews of this product, you'll find a host of other complaints. I echo what many have said, but would rather not turn this review into a novel by reiterating them here.

Summary: Product doesn't work as advertised, customer support is basically lip service with no intent to address a problem, they are transparently dishonest, and will spam you to an unbelievable degree. AVOID!!!!!!!

"Of Course You Need This Software"

    June 09, 2013   |   By timeoutagain

    Version: WebWatcher 8.1.23.1056

    Pros

Helps me track all the website that my kid visits
I can block website that I don't want my kid to visit
I am alerted when certain actions are taken

    Cons

Trial period is too short. I need more time to learn all of the tricks and features.

    Summary

This software makes it easy for us to monitor our sons computer and make sure he is not visiting web sites that we don't feel are beneficial to him. Until the software breaks we feel this software is a 5.
