"This is dreadful software"

November 02, 2014  |  By atoddpok

 |  Version: Web Easy Professional 7

Pros

The web hosting is good and logical and reasonable value

Cons

Webeasy (10) it truly dreadful, It is inconsistent, illogical and full of bugs. Nothing works correctly. The help files are dreadful, and the support service doesn't seem to work. I have wasted a long time on this prduct and plan to abandon the effort,

Summary

Full of bugs, avoid like the plague

"got me where I wanted, but not a great product."

June 06, 2014  |  By tonerguy14

 |  Version: Web Easy Professional 7

Pros

somewhat easy, but not intuitive. OK interfaces and some OK templates.

Cons

WYSIWYG is not more like WYSIWY sort of G. Have to bounce often between the editor and a web page to see really what will be published. Not easy to modify html directly from within the software. But the worst was the publishing feature... it just does not work and a call to tech support simply just pointed me back to my hosting provider. Resorted to filezilla after trying to make it work for about an hour which of course worked on the first go.

Summary

not worth the money, I'm sure there is a better solution for the neophyte web developer.

"Not even worth the modest cost of $49"

March 28, 2014  |  By JDebes1

 |  Version: Web Easy Professional 7

Pros

Not any that stand out, templates looked ok but watch out you try to make the slightest modifications to them.

Cons

This software is like telephone con-artist, don't be tempted to buy it.

The WYSIWYG should be what you see is what you get.... ,but this software gets all mixed up
and mistakes are permitted by the poor WYSIWYG implementation can't be It's corrected.
It is Non-intuitive, you'd be better off coding HTML and CSS by hand.
Poor error backtracking

Don't make the same mistake I made. Stay away from this software it is worthless.

Summary

A worthless waste of time, money and learning effort.
The higher ratings of this program are absolute propaganda.

"Great little website maker"

March 25, 2014  |  By mp101

 |  Version: Web Easy Professional 7

Pros

Easy to use, in-depth features

Cons

Not as intuitive as I hoped

Summary

Don't know what all the fuss is about with this program. I've had Versions 6, 7 and 8 and have never had a problem. Always worked flawlessly. You do have to devote some time to learning how this program works but all in all, an inexpensive way to build a semi-professional looking website. Wish it had more features, though. Avanquest hasn't done much in the past few years to update its features -- or introduce new ones. But a steady-eddy program.

"Heap of junk"

February 04, 2014  |  By whoozhe

 |  Version: Web Easy Professional 7

Pros

None that I can find

Cons

It is a mess. No manual, buggy, Avanquest should sack whoever wrote this junk and immediately withdraw it from the market, refund every purchaser and hire someone who knows what they are doing. It simply does not deliver any of the promises.

Summary

Avoid upgrading. Stick to version 9 or earlier. This is a release to satisfy shareholders or management or someone but definitely not the consumer.

"Wish I'd read these before buying. Too trusting."

January 20, 2014  |  By savmiln

 |  Version: Web Easy Professional 7

Pros

Can't think of any.

Cons

This product is a long, long way from providing a reasonable website. For nearly two months, I've been trying to get a response to my request for a refund. NO RESPONSE TO EMAIL, NO TELEPHONE CALLS ANSWERED...

Today - on their new 'parent' site there's a link to "buy effexor" which is an antidpressent. I ordered the additional extended download period (fool that I am) and the Backup CD (which hasn't arrived).

Summary

My recommendation: Do NOT deal with the company.

"A lot of fun and creative potential"

May 26, 2010  |  By decoeur1

 |  Version: Web Easy Professional 7

Pros

Very flexible, with a lot of creative templates and creative, easy to set in place scripts. Had a page done in 30 minutes, a whole basic site done in a little over an hour, and all without reading the instructions.

Cons

Program has a few irritating bugs that slowed progress down.

Summary

The creative potential is phenomenal if you don't mind learning all the ins and outs of this program. Even with the irritating bugs it is still a fun program that gets the job done.

"Don't Waste Your Money"

October 27, 2009  |  By Cheryl_Em

 |  Version: Web Easy Professional 7

Pros

I have no pros about this product. I am extremely disappointed.

Cons

This software is very difficult to navigate. There is no written documentation, and even the "on-screen" help that appears is illogical and hard to follow.

Summary

You get what you pay for.

"Software upgrade ruined programs"

September 30, 2009  |  By nywhits

 |  Version: Web Easy Professional 7

Pros

Not sure if there are any, since they updated the software.

Cons

Trying to upload website to GoDaddy difficult prior to updating software. New s/w version is much harder to use. Now I cannot figure out how to upload to godaddy. It always fails. The documentation is poor at best.

Summary

I had the s/w working fine until they updated it. Since then, things just don't seem to work as well as they did. I cannot figure out how to upload the finished webpage to my hosting site. Something has changed but no clue what. As much as I hate MS, I have switched to publisher as it is a standard program that offers excellent training and support. I guess you get what you pay for.

"Don't WASTE your time"

May 11, 2009  |  By PCUser25Years

 |  Version: Web Easy Professional 7

Pros

"Pretty" templates. Deceptively "easy" to learn. (See CONS). Cheap to buy.

Cons

"Deceptively" easy to learn, but it doesn't work the way you THINK it will. Cheap, PROVING that "you get what you pay for". Claims WYSIWYG, but it's NOT TRULY WYSIWYG. Things change when you finish editing, and view the results.

Summary

They call this a "Professional" version of the program, but your first clue should be that it's only $50.00. And mine was "FREE" (bundled with my computer). The first thing I noticed is that it's tricky at best to go back and edit text that you've already completed. If you use colored text (Rich text allows that), things get weird, and change colors when you don't expect it. "WYSIWYG"? Not really. I had too many times that when I previewed my work, it looked different than when I was creating it. Text enlargement, font size shift, graphics would sometimes move. There are other things I don't like about this program, but the MOST dis-satisfaction I found was their "tech support"! I had several issues that I escalated to them, and it took several attempts to get any answer, and most of them were WRONG!! For instance, their "forms" that you can insert into your web page, don't work, and their explanation is that it takes a "special" server of some kind for them to function correctly. NOT according to people I know who have degrees in computer engineering! Also, an email link didn't work for everyone. Again, their excuse on this one was that it depended on the viewer's "default" email setup and whether or not they were using Web based vs. Client based email. Again, NOT true. I had several people who had issues with the email link, and the combined "complaints" came from people using both Web based and Client based email with no correlation to what worked and what didn't. Finally, I had a question (another issue with the "forms") where it would insert a '+' sign in the blank spaces. Their excuse was that a SPACE is "not really a character", and that the program had to insert something as a place saver.....well, according to the ASCII table, "SPACE" IS HEX20, and therefore a legitimate character. When I challenged them on this, they made up another excuse about converting it to HTML....again.....poor excuse, since there's also and HTML entry for the "SPACE in the ASCII table. (And even IF they're explanation was true, why is this the first time in more than 25 years experience with computers....running CP/M, MS-DOS, Windows from 3.1 to Vista and everything in between, Amiga, and UNIX, that I've ever encountered this?) In short, I'm VERY dissatisfied with the tech support for this program. AVOID IT and find something that works as advertised! I'm still searching.
