Publisher's Description
From Innobits:
Background
Video signals are contaminated by noise in many different ways even if they are completely digital. Sources of noise are for example storage media, image acquisition equipments (e.g. cameras, digitizers etc.), transmission channels (e.g. broadcasting, satellite links, cable networks, statistical multiplexers) and receiving and recording equipment. The noise has different characteristics, for example: additive white gaussian noise from electronic equipment, salt and pepper noise from over-the-air transmissions, video grain and packet loss or frame-loss in digital transmissions over unreliable networks.
Innobits Video Purifier removes these contaminations, for example dithering artifacts, unwanted video noise and unpleasant signatures from earlier processing. Only noise that shouldn\'t be in the video is removed, which means that animated noise is not touched.
Also, Innobits Video Purifier does not "smear out" the noise or put any "new" pixels into the video - it simply uses already existing pixels.
Innobits Video Purifier is the standalone NLE software for you to use as an additional tool of the trade.
The powerful algorithm used in Innobits Video Purifier is "heavy-duty" signal processing even if it is light weighted in respect to CPU time. The limitation in hardware, is the memory bandwidth, not the number of CPU\'s / cores or other hardware installed. In this NLE software there is a totally new thinking in the Graphical User Interface, making it really easy to learn and use the product. The user will have careful control of what is to be processed; execution is fast and - very important - the range of application is broad, meaning that Video Purifier can be used in and for different situations, e.g.:
- Removing contaminations before editing/cutting your video
- Removing contaminations after editing/cutting
- Restoration of motion pictures
- In pre/post processing prior the final cut
- In post-processing equalizing content from different sources and cameras
- In post-processing restoring video quality for archiving purposes
- In pre-processing prior to any encoding. Encoding is sensitive to noise/contaminations.
An up/down scaler for any frame sizes are also included.

"Video Purifier is an amazing new noise reduction tool."
Version: Video Purifier 1.3.7
Pros
Finally, Video Purifier is available, a serious noise reduction solution that is easy to use, unbelievably fast and inexpensive to own. I have worked for 15 years in post production and have longed for such a product to become available.
Cons
I see no cons with this product. It is multi-processor aware, maintains QT gamma regardless of codec, which is difficult to do these days. Advanced controls increase noise reduction capabilites beyond the basic controls.
Summary
Buy this product if you need noise reduction. I have experimented with every product available and none have been able to retain all the quality and clarify of the original image like VP can. I have searched for a product this good for many years and now here it is. I would pay double the price they are asking for such a fine product.

"Didn't seem to do anything"
Version: Video Purifier 1.3.7
Pros
Unfortunately, I couldn't see that it did anything. It only output 1 frame.
Cons
The program didn't seem to do anything. It is a very amateurish interface, and perhaps I didn't use the software correctly, but all it did was export 1 frame plus the entire audio track - The single frame didn't look any better than the original.
Summary
Well, see my pros & cons. The software didn't seem to do anything, and didn't even seem to work properly. It seem like a very amateur piece of software for what it allegedly accomplishes. Not professional looking, nor professional acting. It looks like a something for children to play with.
