Publisher's Description
From Greatis Software:
UnHackMe tries to detect the hidden rookits by watching the computer from the initial stage of the boot process till its final stage, that is normal Windows mode. Most modern antirootkit programs try to detect the rootkits when they are already active. They use the very complex methods for detecting hooked system functions. But the rootkit authors creates the new tricks and the process repeats.
What's new in this version: Version 5.99.397 updated detection and removal of Zero Access rootkit, Partizan, and fixed small bugs.

"Awesome - got rid of Google redirect problems"
Version: UnHackMe 5.99.395
Pros
Have to make sure you don't allow system restore to apply when you are using, otherwise - very easy.
Cons
The rootkit thing I was trying to get rid of recognized it and it took me two attempts to download it and start it.
Summary
Use Malwarebytes for the AV 2012 awful thing that is floating around and use Unhackme to get rid of the redirect issue. Thanks to both companies for putting these on Cnet!

"Worked better (or instead of) PC Tools Spydoctor."
Version: UnHackMe 5.99.395
Pros
Doesn't appear to interfere with any of my other programs as some do.
It's FREE!
Not much of a memory hog like some.
I'm just happy I don't have to think about it... that's the ultimate joy of safety from malware, etc.Cons
I really can't think of any after having put up with memory hogs, locked computer, and programs freezing from my other PAID programs.
Summary
Definitely a program everyone should be trying. I'm on XP still, but I think it works well with all versions of MS OS.

"Got rid of google redirect virus"
Version: UnHackMe 5.99.390
Pros
I have had the redirect virus for a couple of weeks and had tried every anti virus I could find. This is the only one that was able to find and remove the virus.
Cons
After it removed the virus the unhackme screen just shut down. I was unsure if it had worked or not, but thankfully it did.

"Unhackme did not remove my search redirect viurs."
Version: UnHackMe 5.8
Pros
It identifed 2 problems, rexesvr and vsdatant. I gave 2 stars only because it did identify to problems.
Cons
After removing the 2 identified objects and rebooting my computer I checked my registry and found 7 instances where they were not removed.
Summary
I thought UnHackMe found and removed rexesvr and vsdatant .
After it rebooted my computer I searched the registry for rexesvr and found it in the following 6 locations and removed it my self.
current user/software/microsoft/windows/currrent version/applets/regedt.
My Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\rexesvr
lastkey data said My Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\rexesvr
local machine/software/micorsoft/shared tools/MSconfig/services rexesvr
local machine/system/controlset001/enum/root/LEGACY_REXESVR
local machine/system/controlset001/services/rexesvr
local machine/system/controlset002/enum/root/LEGACY_REXESVR
local machine/system/controlset003/enum/root/LEGACY_REXESVR
--------
I then searched for vsdatant and found and removed it from local machine/system/controlset001/services/vsdatant
Note that UnHackMe left all of these.
After removing all these I did a system restore. I still have the same problem I started with. -
"It kicked that evil rootkit Trojan's butt!"
Version: UnHackMe 5.0
Pros
UnHackMe caught and killed the rootkit trojan that Spyware Doctor, Ad-Aware SE, Spybot-SD, SUPER AntiSpyware, and Norton Antivirus couldn't find during my 4 days of struggling with a huge payload of malware loaded by a single rogue piece of software.
Cons
UnHackMe addresses ONLY rootkit Trojans, and the process involves YOU making the final decision on each item to be deleted, though it offers quite a bit of analysis and detail to help you decide the action to take for each suspicious item found.
Summary
My anti-virus and anti-malware software certainly caught hundreds of infections caused by installation of rogue software, but they all missed the final rootkit trojan which had hijacked my IE and FireFox browsers, (as well as redirecting Google and Yahoo searches), and I was very close to reformatting my drives. This was the last thing I was going to try, but it worked like a champ for me! I actually laughed out loud with delight when I checked my computer after the final reboot. I AM SOLD!

"this thing kicked serious booty!"
Version: UnHackMe 5.0
Pros
neither windows defender nor AVG could clear the rootkit virus i had but UNHACKME cleared in two scans!
Cons
there is nothing i didn't like, it did exactly the correct job
Summary
you MUST run this in SAFE MODE only and reboot once or twice IN SAFE MODE until it tells you you're clear. then uninstall it, IN SAFE MODE, from your <add/delete programs>. i spent two days trying to rid myself of the UAC/ Antivirus System PRO worm that was in my bootup rootkit. this software did it in three minutes.
i found out about it from university of minnesota's website.
thanks guys! -
"Might Screw With Your PC"
Version: UnHackMe 5.0
Pros
If I was able to use my computer with it maybe I could have found some :(
Cons
Apparently a lot.
Summary
I must agree with one post "May crash your system" cause after I installed this program I was unable to use my computer after a reboot scan it offered. I had to go into safe mode in order to uninstall it. BUMMER!

"May crash your system"
Version: UnHackMe 5.0
Pros
None. Once I started to use the product it caused a serious error.
Cons
Crashed system. How do I know it was this product? Soon as I installed and went to use it, system crashed. Was able to remove product in safe mode. Everything fine now.
Summary
Use on a computer that you don't care if it crashes. Wait for more feedback and testing.
