This excellent freeware utility makes the potentially daunting prospect of cleaning your Windows Registry safe and simple. The interface is spare and straightforward, and most users will probably only need the Scan and Remove buttons.
The settings are configured for immediate use, although you may exclude some Registry branches and references to removable drives from the scan. The default Beginner mode only displays items marked safe to remove, and the Expert mode makes clear which ones aren't. In case something goes wrong after deletion, you can quickly restore the removed keys.
In our tests, the utility found and removed hundreds of junk entries in minutes, making it a worthy download for almost any home user, especially those who are less technically inclined.

"Free Utility that seemed to work"

Pros
I'm not an expert on the subject of the Registry so consider that when reading this review. Program installed and ran without a hitch on my Windows XP SP3 and Windows 7 machines. Hard to tell if it made much a difference.
Cons
None that I could find.

Pros
This is one of the simpliest ways to keep your computer running smoothly. The interface is easy to use and the program runs fast and clean. What an improvement from their earlier version.

It won't walk my dog.
Summary
Toniarts easyclean was my go to program to keep my registry clean as well as optimize my system. It won't run with Windows7 (which I now have) so I tried Tweaknow's new version and it's terrific. I doubt if money can buy a better way to clean up the mess on your hard drive and keep it running well. I'm extremely satisfied. Remember, it's always good to have more than one program watching over your machine, (I run Avast AND Norton) since some programs pick up things that others may miss (I used to run tweaknow AFTER I cleaned the registry with easycleaner, and it always found something easycleaner missed), but Tweaknow is now my first action when I do my weekly cleanup on my hard drive. Highly reccomended.
