TurboRisk allows you to try your hand at world domination. Just like wielding global power, this freeware take on the classic board game quickly becomes addictive. Once you get started, it's easy to lose track of time with this game.

After a painless installation, we were presented with a colorful world map in a simple and uncluttered interface. TurboRisk uses just a handful of buttons, and it's clear what each one does. The object of the game is to conquer all the territories on the map. That seems pretty straightforward, but it isn't. Thank goodness there's a Help button that explains the rules of the game, if you're not familiar with them. There are five predefined game levels. We highly recommend starting with "easy." But if you're feeling like a challenge, go for "very hard" or customize the level of difficulty. You can also choose your map, each offering different sizes, graphic styles, and fonts.

TurboRisk doesn't require personal information or registration, nor does it ask for a username or password. Uninstalling the game is just as easy as installing it. You'll quickly become hooked on this game, so settle in and try to take over the world!

Version 2.0.5 features: player turn order is now random and is shown in the stats window; new game map; numerous updates to the computer player's AI.

very basic game of Risk with a bunch of map options

Simple easy to use game.
Cons
Just too basic. The cards do not give extra armies for territories held.
Summary
When installing this S/W be sure use the step by step custom install option rather than the automatic. This way you can decline all the crapware that comes from CNET.

Pros
This version of the game requires a more global view of what is happening. Some bugs in the prior version have been fixed.
Cons
The game is addictive. You can spend hours conquering the world and being wiped out.

Enjoy the game. It is fun and challenging.

Great AIs, lots of map options, and even game level options.
Cons
The graphics are good for a simple game, but it isn't like the Risk game by hasbro.
