Publisher's description
From CG Security :TestDisk is a powerful data recovery utility. It was primarily designed to help recover lost partitions and/or make non-booting disks bootable again when these symptoms are caused by faulty software, certain types of viruses or human error (such as accidentally erasing your Partition Table). PhotoRec is file data recovery software designed to recover lost pictures or lost files from digital camera memory (CompactFlash, Memory Stick, SecureDigital, SmartMedia, Microdrive, MMC, USB Memory Drives), even Hard Disks and CDRom. PhotoRec is safe to use, it will never attempt to write to the drive or memory support you are about to recover from. Recovered files are instead written in the directory from where you are running the PhotoRec program.

Version: TestDisk & PhotoRec 6.10
Pros: My xd card stopped working, I downloaded several other more fancy programs that either stopped working or only gave me some images back. This was the quickest and gave me all the photos back:)
Cons: User interface is a command line interface. Just take the time to read the text and you'll be fine
Summary: Works fast and does the job... Best of all it's FREE

Version: TestDisk & PhotoRec 6.10
Pros: Fast, easy to use, works well.
Cons: Not GUI which might scare non-techs, but simple to use and instructions straight forward.
Summary: This is a great tool! I had to recover a friend's flash drive that croaked and gave the dreaded unmountable\unrecognizable drive, would you like to format. I tried the drive on XP\Vista\Win 7\Linus\Apple and even Dos and all failed. I searched fo... read more >>

Version: TestDisk & PhotoRec 6.10
Pros: Got all the deleted data back for me in a short time.
Cons: The user interface could be done more non-tech geek friendlier, but with a little time and help from the Tom Merrit video its easy to work with.

Version: TestDisk & PhotoRec 6.10
Pros: *Helped us recover 1000+ pictures while other programs failed
*It's freeCons: No graphical interface (not too much of a problem IMO)
Summary: A lot of our pictures were lost during transferring from the camera to the HDD; in fact not even all pictures were displayed in the memory card preview.
Cause unknown, however PhotoRec managed to restore ALL pictures successfully;read more >> -
Version: TestDisk & PhotoRec 6.10
"Recovered my lost partitions!"
Pros: Worked like a charm! Costs less (free)! Good online documentation.
Cons: I agree with one of the other posts in that the dos based interface is not the best or most user-friendly but if you read the online documentation, it walks you through the process pretty well.
Summary: This tool worked when others failed. I repartitioned my drive with one of those Linux based partitioning tools and it shanked two of my four partitions. After installing this tool, it found those lost partitions and updated the partition table rec... read more >>
