"Crashes sometimes, works sometimes"

Functional if you handle it with care.
Cons
Crashes upon startup, at least when trying to render subtitles with identical title as an avi file in Windows, in which case you'll have to rename either of them first.
Also, it takes a significantly higher amount of total clicks and levels of menus (and thus time) to shift the timing of subtitles compared to other subtitle editors. -

1. I'm trying to get Advanced Substation Alpha subtitles (file type .ass) working with DVD Architect. Subtitle workshop doesn't recognize the .ass formatting codes, drops text chars next to codes.
2. Last update 3 years ago (2008), developer abandoned, forget this one. -
