Version: SoftMaker Office for Windows 2006
"Exceptional MS Office compatiblity"
Pros: Inexpensive, small, and fast, it's the first MS Office clone I've found that can handle complex word processing and spreadsheet documents correctly. I use it on my dual boot notebook under both WinXP and Kubuntu as well as my dedicated Linux (Ubuntu, Mandriva, RedHat, and PCLinuxOS) boxes. Thanks to SoftMaker Office, I only need one licensed copy of M$ Office.
Cons: Doesn't offer the breadth of MS Office, Open Office, StarOffice, or KOffice. Can't handle password locked Excel spreadsheets. Despite the addition of its BasicMaker VBA clone, MS Office documents with VBA are still problematic.
