We've reviewed our fair share of screenshot utilities in our time, and we can't say that it gets much easier than SnapaShot. This simple tool lets users easily capture exactly the portion of the screen that they want and save it in a variety of formats. While it's not the most feature-filled program we've ever seen, we think it's a great choice for basic screen capture tasks.

The program's interface is extremely common-sense; it consists of a frame that can be dragged around the screen and resized by dragging its borders. At the bottom left corner of the frame users can view its dimensions, a great feature if you're trying to take a screenshot of a particular size. A discreet arrow on the side gives users access to a menu that contains the program's options for taking the screen capture. Users can either copy the image to the clipboard or save it in one of six different file formats. That's really the extent of SnapaShot's features--it's nothing fancy, but for many users it will be just enough. Although we typically fault programs for not including a Help file, SnapaShot is so basic and intuitive that this is not a major issue. Overall, we liked SnapaShot a lot, and we think it's a great alternative to the built-in Windows screenshot utility.

SnapaShot comes as a ZIP file and is accessible after extraction with no need for installation. We recommend this program to all users.

Great little screen capture program that anyone can become an expert with in a few minutes You can drag the frame to where you want to capture and easily size it to the perfect size you desire . And the picture quality is excellent.

I have several Screen Capture programs that I love and this is one of them. No it doesn't have the bells and whistles that some others have but in most cases this is all you need, To be honest I use this more often than any of the others , and part of the reason is that it is so easy to adjust . If you want a program that's fast , easy , and basic you can't top this one . Most of the time I just want to grab a quick picture of a partial screen and this does it in a seconds. This doesn't install on your computer like a lot of programs do but you can still get an icon for it if you know how. All you need to do is extract all the files from this download until you break it down to where you see the little camera . When you see that right click on it and send it to your desktop . I also sent one to my documents and filed it under downloads in case I lose the desktop icon somehow . I know this will become one of you favorite pieces of freeware .I have in on all my computers.

Small, easy to use, no program to install, resizable capture area with ability to view dimensions. Perfect for basic captures of anything in any size on screen!

Summary
More of a wishlist.....Since there's no program to actually open, I wish there was a way to put an icon in the system tray to make it even easier to get to. Still-pin it to the start menu and with 2 clicks you will be in capture mode! You can't go wrong if what you want/need to do is capture an area of the screen, resize it, and save it in one of about 6 formats (jpg and png amoung them) with as little time and effort as possible. IMO of course.

The programm is perfect: small and quick, no installation required, easily understandable and, of course, there is a free version.

There are no cons, except the fact, that you'll have to pay, if you want a Pro version.

When ever I cannot get a simple clipart or such to take, I just use snapashot. I really like it, don't use it often but again, often I do as it Sure comes in handy at certain times when other programs are just don't work and Snapashot does!

I couldn't say, as I said, always works for what I need and use it for!
