This handy utility enhances the functionality of Windows' Task Manager by warning you about potential system threats.
Upon launch, Security Task Manager automatically scans your PC to find all running programs. It then displays information about each application in a sortable list, including name, CPU usage, size, manufacturer, and risk factor. Highlighting each entry gives you more detailed data on running processes, including a description of what it does and how much of a threat it poses to your system. If Security Task Manager finds a potentially malevolent program, you can remove or quarantine it.
Especially handy is the feature that automatically searches Google for information about a specific program with a single click. Though it doesn't offer a wide range of features, this program will be useful to those looking for an extra layer of system protection.
Publisher's description
From A. & M. Neuber Software :Security Task Manager displays detailed information about all running processes (applications, DLLs, BHOs, and services). For each process, it improves on Windows Task Manager, providing a security risk rating, a process description, file path, CPU usage graph, start time, embedded hidden functions (for example keyboard monitoring, autostart entry, and browser supervision or manipulation), and process type, such as visible window, systray program, DLL, and IE plug-in. The security risk rating indicates the likelihood of the process being potential spyware, malware, a Trojan, or keylogger. It also deletes traces of your Internet and computer activity, prevents keyboard input monitoring, and warns you when the registry is changed.

Version: Security Task Manager 1.7h
"Very nice (if you know what you're doing)"
Pros: -shows whether a process is hidden, processes that are possibly keylogging, and some other stuff.
Cons: -SpyProtector? That is a rogue AV, however I haven't seen it on earlier version, perhaps you should go with previous ver's.
-could be better, it should show process hooks and injection. (free would be nice too)Summary: -it's wicked if you know what you're doing, it gives great detail on processes. If not, don't waste your time.
-If it in fact does have SpyProtector, get an older version. (stop saying it's a virus/trojan if you don't know what you're talking a... read more >> -

Version: Security Task Manager 1.7h
Pros: if you want to analyze running apps, this is a good alternative. a "detective" application is always worth some time...
Cons: threatfire flags this thing as a threat. i'm not too sure if that's credible, though, because my other wide array of protection programs aren't reacting much.
Summary: if you wan't to use this, suspend threatfire! but i want to see a better alternative to potentially useful software like this rather than seeing threatfire burning them to ashes!!

Version: Security Task Manager 1.7h
Pros: I researched before I tried!!!
Cons: It's supporting software "Spyprotector" is pegged by the net as more of a "Spyscammer". From the looks of this Security Task Mannager is nothing more than a ploy to get you to buy this rogue antispyware garbage hunk of malware.
Summary: I read about five different blogs, reviews, and forums about this so callled Spy Protector that you can purchase with Security Task Manager and they all said it was essentially a scam. Now it could just be quincidence that this spyware program is na... read more >>
