Record desktop screen and save it as a video file.

Screencast Capture Lite is a tool for recording the desktop screen and saving it to a video file, preserving quality as much as possible. The application encodes everything using solely H624 in an almost lossless setting. It supports recording from the primary screen, from a chosen window or from a fixed region. There are few options to configure encoding at this time, mostly on purpose to keep things simple. The software stores videos on the My Videos directory and allows the user to browse them directly from within the application.

This is the portable version of the application, which does not requires installation to run. This version can be run directly from the zip file. For more details, screenshots and specifications please refer to the main application page.

Pros
No install required No plugins required No malicious software piggybacking along Straightforward screen recording
Cons
I wish the app minimized when you were recording, but this is a small gripe. It's simple enough to move out of the way, and the simplicity of the app more than makes up for this small complaint.
Summary
I would recommend this to anyone who is trying to find a light weight screen recorder that records into the most popular codecs (h.264 for me). Great app!

Pros
It works well on window 7, but noy on myold XP- It does well its job all free, PORTABLE no needs installation!! Files saved in avi have nonso great dimension as in other programs. Very easy and clean images.
