ScreenHunter is a free screen-capture tool for you to easily take screenshots. ScreenHunter can capture a full screen, an active window, the client window, or a rectangular area. It automatically saves captures in BMP or JPEG format, so you don't have to stop each time you capture, and you can capture as many as you like. It also can save captures to the Clipboard to be copied to other programs, such as Motion Studio and Word. ScreenHunter has a selectable hot-key capture (F1 to F10) and delayed capture, and uses virtually no system resources on standby. ScreenHunter freeware version has no expiration date and can be distributed free of charge.

When information comes across your screen that you do not want to forget, a screen capture is in order. While using inaccurate and confusing hot keys was once the preferred method, ScreenHunter Free offers an alternative that promises to simplify the process.

This free program has a simple interface that makes this operation surprisingly easy. The main screen is well spaced and intuitive enough to have new users making screen captures in no time. A menu along the top allows users to make screen captures now or to stand by. Along the left side of the screen are the buttons to toggle between options of where the capture comes from, where it is sent, and more advanced options. The Advanced and Send To options are fairly standard for this type of software, but the Capture From option is quite unique. On this screen, users can select a single hot key to take screen captures, as well as select whether they'd like a full-screen capture, capture a window, or simple a small rectangle (which brings up crosshairs that let you zero in on target).

ScreenHunter Free promises to make getting screen captures easier and we were pleased to find it lived up to this promise. The process is simple, the options are easy to manage, and the results are flawless. We highly recommend this download for all users.

  "Easy to Use. Faster than Others I tried"

  Pros: If you're in a hurry, Screen Hunter seems to shave off a few precious seconds from the time it takes to clip those shots.

  Cons: Don't care for the interface. It's kind of clunky, considering the program is so sleek.

  Summary: I like it enought to continue using it over my last program, Imageclip which eventually bombed out and was far more time consuming.

  "a MUST HAVE application for all Windows users!"

  Pros: - Small enough program to run constantly on my netbook without a noticeable slow down.
  
  - Effective, well implemented controls and execution
  
  - Easy to use and set up, I installed and set up in about four minutes total.

  Cons: There is no downside to downloading this product. It could use a little more shine and a feature or two, but it is far and away a wonderful application.

  Summary: First let me say this is a must have application for anyone using Windows. My heartfelt thanks goes out to the creators.

  Pros: Captures all sizes of images from your monitor quickly and easily

  Cons: None to date accept that I could not use it with Vista for awhile.

  Summary: Get this one.

  "Very, very usefull tool!"

  Pros: Lets you to save the screenshots, copy them on the clipboard and insert them in other programs. Take screenshots of the full screen or only areas of it.

  Cons: Hot keys don't work in some programs or games.

  Summary: Is the best program for taking screenshots I used, but they still have to work a bit on it.

  "Seems OK but this the first i've used"

  Pros: The hot key is a necessary feature but doesn't work with all programs.

  Cons: definately need a hot key to draw the box or get full page. now I can only get full page.

  Summary: Like I said I'm new to this kind of program and its uses. will evaluate some of the others but free is a big attraction for something you rarely use.
