ScreenHunter Free makes the already facile task of screenshot grabbing that much easier through its versatility, flexibility, and organization.
It doesn't have to be a full screen: Screenshots are often used to illustrate step-by-step instructions, and in these cases, the ScreenHunter Free's cropping function shines. Here users can grab just one window or a small section of the screen without having to manually crop it from a photo file of the entire screen -- an especially useful feature for those of us with dual monitors.
Easy to use: Streamlined options make this program easy to use.
Easy storage: Creating and saving screenshots can be done quickly with this light program, making the process much quicker as it cuts out the need to paste the shot into MS Paint, Photoshop, or other graphic editing software.
Dated graphics: While the interface is clean and easy to use, the setup and graphics are a bit dated and cheesy.
ScreenHunter proves that well-designed software really can improve even the easiest of tasks. The app's hook is how easy it makes capturing entire screen shots, single windows, or even one specific area.
From Wisdom Software:
ScreenHunter is a free screen-capture tool for you to easily take screenshots. ScreenHunter can capture a full screen, an active window, the client window, or a rectangular area. It automatically saves captures in BMP or JPEG format, so you don't have to stop each time you capture, and you can capture as many as you like. It also can save captures to the Clipboard to be copied to other programs, such as Motion Studio and Word. ScreenHunter has a selectable hot-key capture (F1 to F10) and delayed capture, and uses virtually no system resources on standby.
What's new in this version:
Version 6.0.231 may include unspecified updates, enhancements, or bug fixes.
Found this years ago. Have used it on my XP, and win 7, Now its on my win 10, that I upgrades just before the free cut off day. It came into the win 10 from win 7, just fine. Today 8-7-2016, I put Screen Hunter on my new win 8.1, ( a new back up desk top ) Missed the free win 10 upgrade. Searched google, tried 3 places , found one on forth try. I have to say, reading the other reviews I can not understand the problems. I am a very average PC user, 61 years old. It might not be the best and options might be limited, but I am used to it and it works great for me.
For most the locked up options might be a con, but it is fine for my purposes.
I was lucky I guess I found a good link in my google search, It has worked on all my Windows, XP/ 7/ 8.1 / and 10. I do hope c net or someone does a Recent report on this, I would like to pay for the options, if they are available. I saw the c net review that said they bought the full version, and I would like to see the process for that,,, Link, company, etc. as the original "Wizard Industries guy abandoned this great program.
I know the program is good. I have used it before, but this download came with an intrusive virus that cost me hours!!! to remove.
VIRUS attached, need I say more.
Amazing how one bad experience can taint a reputation. I have used this sight countless times over the last 2 decades without a problem, but I can no longer trust the downloads. Also, this is the only medium I found to tell anyone.
Sometimes the key combos for Windows Vista don't always work as far as putting a halfway decent screen capture onto the clipboard. That's why I got this wonderful handy dandy little app. I especially like the added option of either including or excluding mouse sprite/pointer in the screen capture. Wonderful!
ScreenHunter is an easy way to capture what's on your screen
CNET downloads are tricky
I've been running a free version of Screenhunter 4 for years & it has been handy & trouble-free. I wanted to see if the later version gave sharper & manipulatable scrren prints. It didn't. I bought ScreenHunter 6 Pro & I like it. The download of the free version was like walking through a minefield if you wanted to avoid having a new home page & a host of unwanted features. CNET has to do this to get revenue but you have to be sober & alert when you download stuff from CNET.
Works GREAT. Can be set to Bitmap, JPEG, or others, and can be set to put your photo or capture to any folder you wish. Will capture from Anywhere!!
NONE; could not work any better.
I agree with another person's review......KEEP CLICKING ON "DECLINE". This is a "bundled" software, full of about 5 other programs, but it offers you a "decline" button for all of them. I had no problems with any other programs being installed, after about 5 clicks on "decline"!! PLEASE read the install window as you go. If you don't want all the "bundles", just click on "decline". You will get to the install button afterwards.
Previous posts complained of extra, unwanted junk being installed with SCREENHUNTER, but if you pay attention and read the various screens during install you can simply 'decline' any or all of the add-ons. I have had no issues with the program, it works as promised, and the editor rating is justified
None I have found, if you pay attention during install.
