SMART Ideas Concept-Mapping Software offers a surprisingly simple way to create elaborate visual aids. With simple commands and quick results, anyone from teachers to business people will find this useful.
The program's interface may require a trip to the Help file for rookies, but it won't be long before they are working on their own. With simple command icons, an intuitive layout, and fantastic design templates, users will soon feel very comfortable here. The best place to start designing is within a template. The program provides dozens of choices from business-, science-, and productivity-themed pages to create diagrams. With these, users just fill in the details and can make small adjustments to the picture's flow. This is a great way to get started or create work in a hurry. However, users needing to create their own diagram have a great set of tools available by clicking and dragging colorful shapes, various connecting rods, and even inserting pictures or sound. Thanks to its versatility and ease, the program appeals to experienced and rookie diagram creators. The program's finest feature is without a doubt the QuickCreate feature. By clicking on a button and choosing a general shape for your diagram, users fill in information on the fly and the diagram generates itself. This is a great tool for meetings where diagrams must be made in real time.
With great options for all user skill levels, it will not take the full 30-day trial to learn that this is a great download for public speaking.

In and out of the computer classroom, SMART Ideas engages my students like I've never seen before. They jump at the chance to come up and manipulate boxes and contribute on the classroom SMART Board. SMART Ideas has brought teaching to a new level.
I can't think of anything I don't like or would change with this product.
I use SMART Ideas on an almost daily basis. Whether it's for my own use--arranging student seating plans, working out group projects or planning assignments-- or providing students with a blank map to fill in for assessments and projects, the colorful and easy to use format makes every day use of SMART Ideas not only simple but enjoyable. When I teach, I use SMART Ideas to break down my lecture points into easily-digestible bits of information. Students are more engaged when I lecture with SMART Ideas than rare times I do not. And better yet, I can simply save the file and send it to them through SynchronEyes and they're set for study notes. They love coming up to the SMART Board to fill in answers and move boxes around the screen and I love to see my students so enthusiastic and interested to learn.
I love that I can create concept maps with multiple layers. It allows my students to map out complex ideas and create interactive presentations. The kids love the web quests I create with SMART Ideas and have even started making some of their own!
The layering!!! This feature makes SMART Ideas way more powerful than any other mind-mapping software I've seen.
Can't place the connector on the object - it happens automatically, and doesn't always go where I want it to.
I used to use Inspiration, but when I saw SMART Ideas at NECC, I had to try it. SMART Ideas lets you make layered mind maps, so that you can bring lots and lots of information into one file.
I've never seen any other mind-mapping software that lets you add extra levels. With Inspiration, I always had to cram all my lessons onto one page. SMART Ideas gives me an endless number of levels to go into incredible detail. I'll never go back!
